I am guessing my nickname will cause a few people to wonder. Well Lets fix that now. I am in training to become a pastor, not quite there yet. The catholic church calls me a protestant but I reject that as the church I believe in is a church which disappeared shortly after the death of the last Apostle. I preach that church which the Book of Acts calls The Way. This should not be confused with The Way International. I don't know much about TWI but it doesn't look right to me.
I believe the Bible is the Holy Spirit inspired, inerrant Word of God. Note I did not add Infallable. There is a good reason for that. Satan is infallable in his beliefs. That doesn't make them right. The bible being inerrant or without error precludes the need to define the bible as infallable.
By Rogue in my title I have rejected all churches. Thats not as bad as it sounds at first glance. You see I believe all Christian churches have pieces of Christ's church, that is The Way. Yes this includes the catholic church. They too have a piece to the puzzle. I firmly believe and will not be swayed that all christian churches have suffered corruption. My mission here is to continue to learn and to help you learn the deep truths of the Word of God.
Concurantly I do not accept "tradition". To elaborate, There are many traditions only loosly taught in scripture. So when I read a tradition I want to know everything about it. This of course puts me at odds with denominations that hold up tradition. Not to pick on the catholic church but they are the foremost in tradition belief. When they tell me its tradition to believe, lets say, The purpetualy virginity of Mary I go first to the scriptures. They say Mary was a virgin during the time of Jesus' conception, gestation and birth. So I accept that Mary was a virgin when Jesus joined humanity in the flesh. I also excect that Mary was blessed to be chosen. So that makes the tradition more believable. But I also remember that the bible says the His mother and brothers were outside the place Jesus was teaching. Now in the Greek the word for brothers is ambiguous. It can mean literal brother or male cousin. Which is it. The bible doesn't say. So far I have been unable to locate a document from the time that one of the apostles wrote that Mary remained a virgin throughout her life. So to me, based on scripture I have to reject the tradition as it is incompletely verified.
As you can see Rogue is a given or bestowed title. I do wear it as a badge of honor to be labeled by my peers in the Christian community. What it does not mean is that I willfully teach and preach false docturine. I am a Rogue because I refuse to conform to what the world says is ok. I pray there are many more out there and in here that hold the same title. So as this is getting long I will post on the forum/chatboard instead of continuing here. I look forward to interacting with all of you.
