-Those fat-jiggling belt machines.
-NFL coaches wearing neckties, hats, and overcoats during games.
-Console TVs.
-The little plastic gizmos you put in your 45s so they'd play on your turntable.

Using vise grips to change channels on console TV.

Record players that looked like a suitcase, to play 45s on.

Rotary dial phones in the phone booths.

Floor mounted dimmer switches.

Change holsters used by car hops.

3 on the tree.

Having to use the gas pedal to set the choke on the car.

Trucks with a start pedal.

Saturday morning Cartoons.

Bumper jacks.

Breaker point files.

Cassette players.

Free Speech.

1. Not even a hint of the absurdity of homosexuals marrying.

2. Wholesome TV

3. General fear of the Lord

4. Personal accountability

5. Young respecting elders

6. Intact families was the goal

7. Walking to school under a mile

8. Breadwinner husband, EQUALLY important wife maintaining a home and teaching children

9. Stigma of welfare programs (my mom was on for short time after early death of my Dad, got a job and got off)

10. LOVE OF MOST NOT COLD!

Boy, do I miss those days!

Nothing wrong with CD's or DVR's, but VHS tapes were a big part of my childhood. I wore the heck out of them, rewinding them and watching them over and over. Then I had all these blank VHS tapes that I used to record all my favorite shows. Good times.

Actually, these days I find that even if you DO reach a live person, odds are they still don't know what they are doing.

I waste an INCREDIBLE amount of time and energy every day on things that don't work and people who have no clue.

So add that to the list of things I miss...

People who know what they are doing.
