Domestic Violence = the abuse of one partner within an intimate or family relationship. It is the repeated, random and habitual use of intimidation to control a partner. The abuse can be physical, emotional, psychological, financial or sexual.

1. Roughly 1.5 million high school boys and girls in the U.S. admit to being intentionally hit or physically harmed in the last year by someone they are romantically involved with.

2. Teens who suffer dating abuse are subject to long-term consequences like alcoholism, eating disorders, promiscuity, thoughts of suicide, and violent behavior.

3. 1 in 3 young people will be in an abusive or unhealthy relationship.

4. 33% of adolescents in America are victim to sexual, physical, verbal, or emotional dating abuse.

5. 25% of high school girls have been abused physically or sexually. Teen girls who are abused this way are 6 times more likely to become pregnant or contract an STI.

6. Violent behavior often begins between year 7 (6th grade) and year 13 (12th grade/senior). 72% of 13 and 14-year-olds are dating.

7.
50% of young people who experience rape or physical or sexual abuse will attempt to commit suicide.

8. Only 1/3 of the teens who were involved in an abusive relationship confided in someone about the violence.

9. 40% of young people are already being subjected to relationship abuse in their teenage years.

10. Someone should care enough to help.

It doesnt matter how much you love them, you cant be with someone who delibretly hurts you. It wouldnt be okay for some stranger to abuse you like that so dont make an excuse for him. You will always deserve someone better than that. Its your life so take control cos if you dont tell anyone about it or you dont leave him/her than it is not going to get better from that.
