'Disarmament'
To be removed
from harm.
To let your guards
be knocked down.
To let the heart be removed.
To leave the ambush
and walk down.
To walk on the grass
of a safe path.
To leave the rebell
like tasks.
Life may leave us disfigured
but the truth is a narrow path.
To leave the armaments of war
and coveting after a covetous path.
To saying,"I may not be much.
But to God I'm a rich shaft."
"I may not match the rest
of the world.
That's warred the long path."
"But I'm on that mouth-watering refreshing
path that forever blasts and lasts."
Walking down and over
the sacred path.
The answers and the air clears
before me of what really lasts.
Following God on the broken,
contrite, winnowed path.
Became the founding
of a rare treasure.
That surely couldn't be bought.
But by looking to God
he brought faith.
From whence all had been lost.
Because I looked on and not back.
To the crumbling
of a fumbling aftermath.
Of a perishable thing
that doesn't last.
Lot and his family
having lost.
Failed though they bailed.
But still had what they
had been holding on to.
A God that never fails.

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
