Interesting question. My short answer is "yes", but by "proportionate" I would not say "equal".
Compared to the awesome power of God, the enemy's power is utterly insignificant. God is fully capable of protecting His work, and where He doesn't, it's because He has purposes for those involved.
I'm not sure if I understand the question.
There are certain works of God that Satan's armies see as bigger threats, if that's what you are asking.
Even as a young believer, I was targeted by demons.
I didn't think of myself as any threat to Satan's minions, but they sure went out of their way to target me and put a contract out on my life.
There were all kinds of random attacks from mostly strangers.
I didn't think I was making a difference for God's kingdom as a young believer.
However , Looking back I was making progress and trying to lead others to Christ. The Lord introduced me to opportunities to lead in ministries too. He gave me an excellent Sunday School teacher who was my early mentor. My parents were open to me going to church services and soul winning. That was a major plus! I needed that training more than my martial arts .
There were way too many physical attacks to be coincidental. Once they manifested through my girlfriend at the time, I realized that there was organized spiritual warfare through flesh and blood.
Christians quote Ephesians 6" we wrestle not against flesh and blood", which is true. However they see it out of context with the rest of the Bible as if Satan doesn't use people or commit violence.
Satan certainly DOES send demons and people to do physical violence.
Looking at Mark's gospel, Jesus was casting out demons more than Bruce Lee kicked butts in his movies. There were more demonic attacks during the time Jesus was on earth than any time we have recorded in history. Some, like Legion, were not able to be stopped. They broke chains and were a threat to others .
Not sure. On one hand, I have observed that the level of attack is proportionate to level of faith or threat. The individual would go through a extra hard time during these periods. On the other hand, some people who pose a high threat and have huge impact to do not seem to be attacked or are fazed by the attack.
If I understand this correctly I would say its not the attack that defines its significance but the results afterward which defines its effectiveness.
I would say it could be less, proportionate, or more if God allows it. We must remember just as Jesus commanded the demons to leave the pig, He also told Satan what he could or couldn't do to Job.
Now why does God allow less, same, or more aligns with why does God allows evil. Why despite His sovereignty He doesn't prevent from our perspective so many horrible things.
It would seem the only logical answer would be His patience towards sin and the free will of mankind.
that is a very interesting question. My thought immediately when to Jesus visit to Caesarea Philippi, Found in Matthew 16:13-20. This location is where the "Gates of hell" was located a cave where long ago mighty rushing water ran into the cave and idol worship was done and human sacrifice done, I believe by the Canaanites who worshiped Baal, the Greeks worshiped the god Pan there and other temples were erected too. Jesus said :
13 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”
14 So they said, “Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth [b]will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
The devil will appose us but we shall overcome because Christ has Overcome the devil. We must remain faithful and humble unto the Lord. We fight from Victory not to Victory.
I don't know. I don't really worry about what the enemy is doing, I just concern myself with what the Lord is doing.
Prayers are powerful. These battles start because someone was praying for help - interceding for someone else or for themselves.
Next, it becomes about “willing vessels.”
When we go into a place full of darkness, there are a lot of people that are “willing vessels” which Satan/demons can work through to attack us… so, greater the darkness, greater the attacks.
(We don’t fight against flesh and bone which is physical people because they are only “willing vessels” )
Remember, we’re only there because someone was praying to God for help… God heard their cry and sends us because we are a “willing vessel” God can work through to destroy the works of darkness and deliver the captives!
Light always trumps darkness. Darkness can’t stay where Light is.
God trains us to not be afraid, totally rely on Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. None of these attacks are about us, it’s always about Jesus Christ and His Kingdom of Light. We are God’s “willing vessels” that carry Him - His authority and power into the battle.
Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.
