Have you ever struggled with cutting or any form of self-harm/mutiliation? Or has anybody you know? Can you offer any advice or support?
 
I think there are four other threads on the same topic, so I think your in luck with finding people who you can associate with. Good luck with it, and just don't do it. It's detrimental to your health, and if you don't have your health, what've you got?

I have a friend who lives in the same state as me, but so far away that we must communicate online and through mobile. She has confided to me that she cuts herself to deal with all the guilt and ill-natured things that happen around her.
I would say to her, and anybody who listens: It doesn't solve anything. All it does is put you at risk of killing yourself, even by accident. If you feel bad about yourself, don't cut. Talk to a trustworthy person and come to a resolve as to why you feel so bad.

i have cut for years, and only by the grace of God, and a very supportive youth group at my church, Ive been clean for 6 months.

i would love to talk to you about this, if you want.
 
I cut for years but now I have been clean from it for 13months. I suggest getting a good group of friends to support you when you want to cut or to talk with when that urge comes. Also seek God he can help you. Like I said I have been clean for 13 months but the temptation has never gone away just lessened with time. But don't give up it gets easier espicially if God is on your side!
 
Yeah. I"ve been clean for 8 months, since I got saved. But this last week, I have come sooo close to giving in. And I just need some advice and support to get through it.
 
Talk to a youth pastor at your church. Or if they have the youth workers in training in your youth group they are excellent people to talk to because they are older then the youth but not by much so they will have grown up enough to help you but they're not too old! But if you don't have a youth group maybe talk to some christian friends or any friends. If you have a good relationship with your parents talk to them. Basically just talk don't bottle it up and keep it to yourself.

yeah. i've talked a lot with my youth pastor, and the pastors wife and daughter..but i just dont' know what to do..
 
What did they say? Try talking to God about it. Ask him to give you strength and ask him why you have such an urge to cut now. Just keep talking with God tell him everything on your heart cry if you have to if you've run out of things to say to him just worship him. It has always made me feel better
 
yeah. they just reallly tried to encourage me and told me if i really had a strong urge to cut, to call them.. and they would talk to me..so idk..and yeah..i've continued to constantly pray about it. and serch for scripture and things like that...
 
i wrote the verso 1 corinthians 6:19-20 on my wall.
fromthe new living translation, "Dont you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You donot belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."

that is the main verse that has helped me out so much. just the part that says honorgod with your body means so much to me.. idk.

also, give yourself rewards. that always helped me. like if i could go so far without cutting, i would do somehting fun to celebrate it. or if i struggled with it really bad one night, but didnt give in, i would celebrate that too.

I would suggest calling them and talking to them now
 
yeah. i have that verse memorized, along with 1 Corinthians 10:13. those two verses have really helped me out a lot too :)
 
i'm really thinking about calling them. Because even though i'm not really tempted right now, I know I was tempted earlier this morning, and have been tempted for the past few days.
 
i love that one too. =) also, ephesians 2:10. says we are gods masterpiece.
 
yeah - for we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Jesus Chris, so we can do the things He planned for us long ago :) I love that one too :)
 
hehe. =) yep. im honestly proud of you though that youve made it 8 months so far. =)) congrats. i know how hard it is, and i know you, being a child of the king of kings, can overcome any temptation that satan is going to throw at you. and it will get hard, because you are now a threat to satan. but remember, god is faithful, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. =)
 
aww. thanks. yeah. its hard. I struggled with it for almost two years..from when i was 12 1/2 to almost 14 1/2...and i cut up until the day before I got saved. I had no intention of stopping, but God really worked on my heart one night at church, and thats when I accepted Him into my heart. When I first got saved, I was that tempted, but once the first few months went by, the temptation to cut started coming back, and i'm going on nine months now. I thank GOd everyday taht I don't cut..but with the stress at home and stuff, its just been really hard to not revert back to cutting...
