O crocodile tears
You hide my sins
Behind waves of false guilt
leading me down roads to nowhere
i await the true repentance
that follows right belief
the deepening love and ultimate mystery.
i do not dare to look
into what is dark and hellish in me
because i try to fight by myself.
I am conquered by you, O crocodile tears.
Pride is your source, not Christ's love,
so you are crocodile tears...
My path to God has not yet begun,
because only the humble can approach the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Help me, O Christ God, Son of the Eternal Father
to gain true repentance
through you Love.
