It's been reported in Australia that several people have been reinfected with COVID. They contracted the disease about a year ago and were fully recovered. This is the first instance in Australia. The COVID variant was not disclosed. Obviously natural immunity is not 100% effective. The good news is that symptoms are less severe than with the initial illness.
 
My own though on the lateststrain, Omicron, is that anyone who should suffer from it will survive, and possibly be naturally immunized agains further infections, but I refer only to this strain immunizing against covid19.

That is natural immunity. To get it, recover, then the next time it isn't as severe.

I had a friend on a missionary trip and he apparently kept catching Covid-19 repeatedly, round after round after round. I lost track of how many times he caught Covid-19. He was hospitalized repeatedly for months.
 
One thing I've learned about Covid is its difficult to nail down. Everyone has different stories and experiences. Really which ones you highlight depends on your views.
I haven't really come to a conclusion on anything regarding it. But here's my experience.

I got Covid a month ago. I have pre-existing health conditions and take meds that weaken my immune system, so the idea of catching it was quite scary.
I spent about a week in the hospital and I was told my symptoms were the least had of anyone else's there.
My 88 year old father never got it from me, despite our living together. He has been vaxed and had all boosters.
My sister was already in the hospital for cancer when she was diagnosed with it just hours after I was. She passed a week later, though I'm not sure what the official cause was listed as. Probably cancer.

During Thanksgiving, just a few days after I got out of the hospital, a bunch of family came in from out of town. My sister died two days later so everyone stayed. After the funeral everyone came to our house. Turns out numerous people got Covid. My understanding is none even went to the hospital, though they were quite sick. Everyone recovered. My father still never caught it. I didn't catch it again (though I also spent minimal time around everyone).

My cousin got it months ago. She got really sick but was never hospitalized, then recovered. A nurse I spoke to said she got it and barely had symptoms, yet her bf got it and was bed ridden he was so sick. Neither hospitalized, both recovered.

But I'm sure there are people with much worse experiences. I've heard of some who died from it (other than on the news).

If you're dismissing it you're doing a disservice to those around you. If you're preaching it as a death machine tearing across the land leaving an endless trail of bodies, you're fear mongering.

Yup. But it's so very easy for people to ignore the facts that don't fit what they have already chosen to believe.

And when you have a nice little stack of the facts that DO fit what you choose to believe, it's a lot of fun to use them when you yell at the people who made different belief choices. Or at least I think they are having fun... A lot of people sure do it. If that many people are doing it, it MUST be fun, right?
 
Getting and recovering from Covid is infinitely better than getting the lethal injection clot shot!

First, the shot(s) is not lethal. Second, recovering from COVID is not a given. People are dying from COVID. Or does that not bother you? You'd rather watch people die? Just to prove a point? In which you are wrong anyway? I'm beginning to think anti vaxxers are just heartless. FE people are deceived but at least no one is dying because they believe it and promote it.

Not stopping at heartless, my feeling is that the negationists are guilty of murder, or giving the nod to others dying.
This is not a matter of science, it is a matter of love, first our Father and then our fellows in this age.
It seems some of the most ignorant are the most informed of the vaccines and their components, while those who actually study the facts cannot come to the same determinations.
A person who is vaccinated is also protecting others, this is not even approaching a wrong-doing, but killing others or giveng the nod to it is.
 
Why blame those of us who choose not to be vaccinated?
Right now a Norwegian Cruise Liner is out at sea with people catching covid on the ship.
Everyone on board has been vaccinated.
116 professional football players who have been vaccinated and have covid with no proof that they became covid due to being in the presence of unvaccinated people.
You pro vax people, you are trained to obey, get your shots, as many as they tell you to get, and blame the others for all your problems.
Why not just give your life to Jesus and be careful and stop worrying and blaming others.
 
Two things to note here:

1: Both sides in this argument keep yelling at each other about lacking intelligence and proper love for their fellow man and God.

2: Both sides keep vigorously insulting each other.

These observations lead me to one obvious conclusion... but if I said it both sides would hate me for saying it.

Just because one recovers from COVID isn't necessarily a victory. They will likely have long term side effects depending on severity, such as lung damage.

That's meaningless.
Many different things can give you lung damage.
Smoking can cause lung damage too.
I'm surprised they haven't come up with a series of shots for that.
Oops, they might try that next.
Lots of money in that.

You insult the intelligence of people and you deny that they are saved because they disagree with you? You realise that you have to answer to God for every idle word? I would not like to be in your shoes.

It's not meaningless. Smoking is a choice. A lot of effort goes into trying to dissuade people from smoking. Your comment is thoughtless to say the least.

There is a huge human cost to COVID. An electrician installed a new A/C here yesterday. He caught COVID way back. He could not work for two weeks, which is huge when you are self employed. He was fortunate. Many victims take months to recover.

Multiply those effects by millions of people and you get some idea of the human cost of COVID. It's far worse in third world countries. In many, if you can't work you don't eat.

There is nothing funny about spreading lies and misinformation about COVID and vaccines. I'd much rather not have to talk about it all.

The fundamental issue is neither COVID or vaccination. It's truth. Christians should love the truth, seek the truth and hold fast to the truth. Following every nut job, conspiracy theorist and fake news spouter down their rabbit hole is not loving truth.

You are finding a million reasons to blame a COVID death on something else. Sometimes that is true (like a gunshot victim with COVID) but most of the time that's not the case. A lung cancer patient or survivor can die of COVID. There is a high risk group who have other ailments who die from COVID.

This plan sounds good to people who know a little bit about the immune system, but it sounds bad to people who know a lot about the immune system AND to people who don't know anything about the immune system.
