I'm 15 and I'm dedicated to my church but for a while now I haven't been feeling anything. Not necessarily empty but just a lack of emotions this has been for years. I'm very smiley and happy but that's because it's rare that things affect me I'm struggling in my relationship with God cuz I don't know how to establish one. I wanna give my live sincerely to Christ but because of my lack of emotions I never know where my actions or words are coming from. If they are coming from my mind, or heart or anywhere. I can never tell. So how can I know if I'm being sincere with God if I never am able to tell where my words are coming from. People usually pray to control their emotions and things like that but I'm praying for emotions since I'm lacking them .

To establish a relationship with God, you just have to be real. People think that prayers have to always be "Hallelujah" and "God you are awesome". And while you shouldn't exclude those, if you don't sincerely mean them, you shouldn't say them. I have had many nights where I just cried and was like "why would you do this to me?!" and stuff like that. He just wants you to be real with him. If you truly feel emotionless towards him, tell him. You said you weren't sure where your words were coming from, whether they were from your heart or your mind or elsewhere. I'll tell you this, if you're not sure where your prayers and stuff come from, just truly speak from your heart. Tell God what you're feeling. But also, try to listen. Talking and praying for minutes on end, then quickly saying "Amen" might not give you desirable answers. Speak, then take a few minutes of silence to give him time to reflect back to you.

I am sorry if I misunderstood any of your words above. My answer is just from what I interpreted what you had said. I hope any of this helps. Feel free to talk to me anytime if you need it.

Sounds like the early stages of depression. I know because I was right about that age. I don't know how dull you might feel your life is, but for me it was because of going through the motions everyday - even in my spiritual life. Try not to over think things like where your words come from, what you're going to do Friday night, or other silly things. Just chill out and talk to God; he only wants to hear from you.
