Chocolate goes with everything, except seafood. However, bacon goes with seafood, and chocolate goes with bacon. This is proof of intelligent design.
Dark chocolate; everything else is a corruption.
Oh, and dried cranberries go really well in brownies. Sorry, the evidence has vanished.

Chocolate mint loaf cake | BBC Good Food
I made mine in two bread trays and then sliced both cakes in two, making two two- layer cakes rather than one large.
And i skipped the decorations, as I'm not quite that handy
