The killing of Charlie Kirk is a terrible, devastating, tragic event. My condolances to his familiy and friends.

But my question today is as follows: What now, dear americans ? Which impact will his death have on your society?
As a non-american, my first analysis is as follows. You have, in my opinion, mainly two ways of reacting:

- "Peace and love". You americans come together, from each wing and every fraction, and you say:
"Enough is enough !" Enough hatred, enough polarization, enough violence, enough killings. Let us unite in a brotherhood
and be friends, despite some disagreement on this or that. Peace and love !

- War. Expand the hatred, expand the war. You are not me and you will never be. I hate you, your group and your opinions!
I am a warrior of the good side and anyone not with us is an enemy. War !

So which solution do you - reading this - support?
This is a serious question; it's about the future of the United States of America.

"Either or", is a carnal, human, outlook, taking ALL things to Him FIRST for His guidance and then walking it out is His plan.:)(y)

Something needs to be done about the easy access to guns by every unstable person that comes along. Unfortunately, the US government is owned by the gun lobby and they don't have the political will to go against them. I support the second amendment. But is there no one is intelligent enough to come up with something that would be a win/win for everyone? I think they could, they just don't want to upset the applecart.

I know nothing about politics or even about how the government works but wouldnt it be fair to say that each person has to take a psychological evaluation before getting a gun. It might help, if thats not already a thing. I don't think its unfair towrds people either.

when you apply for a gun they make you sign a document that state something like I attest that i do not have any mental illness.

Ok, you discuss weapon laws, but it seems you missed the important thing:

Peace, or war.

The issue of guns is one of the most important things. Nevertheless . . .

I pray there will be peace, but unfortunately if maga has their way it will be all-out war. Donald just said he wasn't sure if certain people who oppose him have 1st amendment rights. Pam Bondi said she was looking into designating certain types of speech "hate speech." Stephen Miller is calling for the "left" to be designated a terrorist organization; which of course would mean anyone they determine to be a "leftist" would have no constitutional rights. FOX maga propaganda network is calling for war against the left.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense can see who the real threats to democracy are. Maga accuses everyone on the left of doing what they're actually doing. Statistics prove the vast amount of political violence in this country comes from the right. What maga are doing isn't conservatism, it's authoritarianism. Donald isn't the president of the USA, he's the president of his maga faction. Instead of rising to the occasion, he's sinking to the bottom..

Charlie Kirk: "Hate speech does not exist legally in America. There's ugly speech. There's gross speech. There's evil speech. And ALL of it is protected by the First Amendment. Keep America free."

Kirk was right.

I totally agree with you Resident.

Now folks;
Mr Trump said, even long before the investigations began, that the cause of all this madness is the "left side". Well, really ? During the last 10 years, who has done the most political caused killings; left side or right side?

The answer is, according to all statistics; the right side.

Besides that; Mr Trump proclaimed death penalty even before investigations began. This is in opposition to all healty democratic ways of running a society. But of course; Mr Trump wants to be a dictator.

Be aware dear Americans. Mr Trump leads you all into a dictatorship.

It's interesting how simplified this is made, over and over and over again. The problem with evil is that it needs to be dealt with at some point and the earlier the better. Otherwise, that point is reached when it's been allowed to proliferate too long and to too great an extent. And then there's the ages old problem of defining "evil" in a political society. Some of us don't have that problem to the degree that others do.

There are people on tiktok making videos calling for civil war.

No doubt. Anyone who ever thought opening global communications to everyone with a digital device was going to be a good thing wasn't thinking right. With the tech now and upcoming everyone's going to be able to make pro-level media on their AI phone. Every mental illness can be professionally marketed with mass appeal. Fun times...
