The miracles confirmed the Apostles being of the same authority as Moses, Elijah and Elisha, etc. They confirmed their status. They also passed the gifts to those they laid their hands on. Philip and lesser apostles who healed. Those gifts no longer exist having ended when the Apostles died. Any claims for these gifts today have no documented evidence confirming them.Does God heal today? If yes, on what basis does God heal? Do christians have to depend only on doctors or people like t.b.joshua for healing?

The prayer of faith heals the sick. But many do not have biblical faith. So these gifts are dormant today. Psychosomatic illnesses are being healed that are related to sin when repented of.
I'm not familiar with MacArthur. But don't trust is grasp on scripture in other areas. James says the prayer of faith will heal the sick. But most today don't have biblical faith and equate positive thinking with it. It's rare today but I had a Baptist friend whose daughter God performed a true miracle on obviously through prayer.Do the cessationists' church like those of john MacArthur teach about the prayer of faith which heals the sick?
Is the prayer of faith a faith based on Christ's redemptive work on the cross?

Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Many think it is the result of choosing to belive with the flesh. What is biblical faith?
Faith on what?Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Many think it is the result of choosing to belive with the flesh.
Any time you choose to believe, it is a work of the flesh and not bible faith. Bible faith causes you to believe because of the Holy Spirit in your heart.Faith on what?

What should be the object of faith?Any time you choose to believe, it is a work of the flesh and not bible faith. Bible faith causes you to believe because of the Holy Spirit in your heart.
Here's how it works. Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, not a choice. When you pray according to God's word, if faith is present, it is God telling you your prayer is answered Yes. But if you pray and faith is not present, it is God telling you No. The problem is, people who pray and conjure up what they assume is faith but is nothing more than choosing to belive with the flesh, that can cost lives. People thinking God owes them healing based on nothing more than positive thinking. What should be the object of faith?

You evading the question. Is faith a trust in your good deeds or Christ's good deeds? Here's how it works. Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, not a choice. Do you think you have any good deeds you can trust in?You evading the question. Is faith a trust in your good deeds or Christ's good deeds?
Read the question before answering.
So biblical faith means to trust in Christ's good deeds on the cross. Do you agree?Do you think you have any good deeds you can trust in?
Trust in his shed blood as your only means of salvation and healing. So biblical faith means to trust in Christ's good deeds on the cross. Do you agree?
Do cessationists preach faith in Christ's blood for healing?Trust in his shed blood as your only means of salvation and healing.
Many mainline churches believe the prayer of faith heals the sick. Scripture says so. But they also know God works through means. Paul put his friends on medicine when he could no longer heal in the epistles. But the charismatics don't understand Acts or the Holy Spirit. They came from a background of slaves that assumed African voodoo tongues were the same as bible tongues, long expired. And mixed voodoo with Wesley Methodism thinking things are just as they were in Acts.Do cessationists preach faith in Christ's blood for healing?
If yes, why do christians trust in people like benny hinn, t.b.joshua etc for healing?
No, but they put their faith in God that he can heal them, because they are his children. And they let God the response in the knowledge that God knows what they need. And know also what is for them the best.Do cessationists preach faith in Christ's blood for healing?
If yes, why do christians trust in people like benny hinn, t.b.joshua etc for healing?
When paul could no longer heal why did he put them on medicines rather than teach faith in Christ's blood? Many mainline churches believe the prayer of faith heals the sick. Scripture says so.
