Here's an idea for this coming Thursday's Thanksgiving time. You're around the table, either for lunch or dinner. Your guests are there, and who knows what they will want to talk about. But YOU are the host. You get to pick the "table topic." When everyone has had their share of roast turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and corn, before serving the dessert, have them read and share their take on "10 Bible verses" connected with "giving thanks." What do these verses tell you? How do you personally relate to these verses?

If you have 10 guests, each guest gets a verse. If there are 5 guests, each one gets 2 verses. Do the math, divide up the verses, and let that be the "Table Talk" before dessert.

1 Thessalonians 5:18; Psalm 100:4; Psalm 9:1; Psalm 7:17 1 Chronicles 16:34; Philippians 4:6; Colossians 3:15; 4:2; James 1:17;

2 Corinthians 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:57

Good idea! Thankfulness is a fruit of the HS, akin to praise.
Paul cited it so much that I am surprised he did not include it in his list in Galatians 5:22-23.
He mentions it after the greeting in most of his epistles, but I guess he was not grateful that some
Galatians were heretical, so he began by rebuking them. (Gal. 1:6)

John 6:11
And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks,
he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down;
and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

How about some songs, too? Here's one complete with chords in the wrong place:

I Will Enter His Gates (PS 110:4)

[E] E A E c#
I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart,
E A B7
I will enter His courts with praise,
E A E G#7 c#
I will say, “This is the day that the Lord hath made,”
f#7 B7 E
I will rejoice for He hath made me glad.

E A E c#
//He hath made me glad; He hath made me glad,
f#7 B7 E A E
I will rejoice, for He hath made me glad.// (repeat // , then verse)

These are all great verses, and I love your idea. Thanksgiving is a time to not only give thanks for all the blessings God has given us, it is a time for me to focus on the foundation of Thanksgiving, our gracious and loving God. Psalm 100 is titled as A Psalm of Thanksgiving, and the spotlight is placed on the Lord:

Psalm 100
New King James Version

A Song of Praise for the Lord’s Faithfulness to His People

A Psalm of Thanksgiving.

1 Make a joyful shout to the
Lord, all you lands!
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with
singing.
3 Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and
not we ourselves;
We are His people and the
sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter into His gates with
thanksgiving,
And into His courts with
praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless
His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all
generations.

Let's join the host of heaven who are also thankful to our awesome and wonderful God!

Amen! Blessing and glory and
wisdom,
Thanksgiving and honor and
power and might,
Be to our God forever and ever.
Amen. (Rev. 7:12)

Psalm 50: 14

Yet, I say to you, make no promises (Vows) a yes answer is sufficient, to make a vow or promise comes from evil
We each know right ir right and evil is evil, why does anyone have to straighten a yes answer with a promise.
You know the King that cut off John the Baptists head, regretted having to do that. Who made the promise to hid wife. He would give here anything since was pleased by the dance of her daughter. The worm that never dies,
He fulfilled his vow.
So I say make no promises, I cannot turn my hair on my head white or black. See Psalm 23:1-7 trusting Father to reveal truth over all errors still here on earth happening to us all.
Willing, is a key verse for me to see and be willing to God Father in risen Son. Ready to learn new daily in each and ever mistake I make, not ever claiming perfection, only in Son the risen Won (One) to see new in Daddy's Spirit and Truth to love all in the same mercy and truth given to all by Son doing that willingly, wow, woe is me Isaiah 6:1-7

Other verses
Matthew 5:17, John 19:30, John 1:29, Hebrews 7:11-12, Hebrews 9:14-17

Psalm 92:1
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High:

i thought thanksgiving was about food, fun, football, family & festivity!!!!! ahahahahahahahahahahahaha
