Matthew 24:3-8 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Is this prophecy, a prophetic word you have gotten to share? I am being serious.
I believe what you are saying, but what is the word on it?

I've been watching Chuck Missler on this subject. I put a link to a youtube but I suppose mods did not like it. Basically he said that Israel will become the great power in the Middle East. He died in 2018, so he spoke at least 7 years before the present events. He believed, from scripture, that the first events are the attempted destruction of Israel. Israel overcomes and subdues her enemies. You probably know that there is the so-called Abraham accords under discussion. That would bring real peace.Birth pains will be increasing rapidly of the next months as well persecution of the jews even more

The Missler video has been posted. I've been having "server error" messages quite often, so perhaps there was a delay.I've been watching Chuck Missler on this subject. I've often wondered about the final invasion of Israel during the tribulation time. It says that the invaders come to take Israel's riches. The present Muslim attacks are with the intent of destroying Israel completely. It also says that Israel will be undefended, which implies complacency. Israel is well known for letting its guard down - 1973 nearly saw the end of Israel and the Hamas invasion was unchallenged for hours. Persecution will likely increase. According to Derek Prince, a leader in last days theology, Jews should move to Israel. Israel was founded on intense persecution and the current round will no doubt encourage many Jews to resettle in Israel. This will be to the detriment of the nations that drive them out.
I believe also that Israel will take back all the land that what given to Abraham and his descendants. According to Missler, you could buy a 'T' shirt with "Attack us again. We need the real estate". Jews are far from intimidated.
Sometime "soon" (whatever that means) America will cease to be a great power. Certainly America will not intervene to defend Israel in the final attack from the antichrist forces. America to me seems like a hollow tree that is still alive, but rotting from the inside. I know someone who had to cut down a massive tree that encroached on his neighbour's property. It looked perfect on the outside, but was being eaten up by bugs inside.
Satan is coming out in the open. The UK imprisoned a woman for a year and a half for complaining about immigration. Christians are harassed for exercising their rights to preach the gospel. Some have been locked up, only for the courts to dismiss the charges. This is in a supposedly Christian country. Do tell.
The wicked march in the streets. A performer had a crowd shouting "death to the IDF" at Glastonbury. The police are "investigating". Yet Christians are arrested on the spot and imprisoned. The UK is headed towards becoming a Muslim republic. One with nuclear weapons. It's just as well their military is a shadow of what it used to be.
Enough ranting. I could be wrong about all this. I hope I am, as I'm English by birth and I hate to see what's going on there.
The way I see it is that the Bible says God will create a new heaven and the new earth, and the old one will be destroyed. BUT it also says that The earth abideth forever. So what do you think about the part, when Jesus said the earth shall be burned up? Do you think the earth will be totally destroyed and gone? I know also thinking, the word of God said all things will be made new.
birth pains will go on until Christ returns but we see them increasing. earthquakes are not only more in number but more intense
That is one of its meanings, but not the only one. The entry for this word in the concordance of my bible software program says:Matthew 24:3-8 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. The word "sorrows" is translated from the Greek word ōdín – which means the pain of childbirth (travail) – HELPS Word-studies

In Matt 24 Jesus said he must put an end to this great tribulation. because if he did not . no life (flesh) would survive.Sad to think that it doesn't get better. I just can't imagine what mankind will come up with next.
Been watching world events for quite sometime now. Trying to establish who's who.
Even then you have to distinguish truth from fake.
Been reading old testament prophecy alot lately which is the only truth I trust. Watching Israel very closely.
Been praying for all the saints for boldness and strength.
I told my family and friends when Covid hit it just gets worse from here. I just had a troubled spirt about that.
They said like many did ..."oh this also will pass" ....guess again.
Seeing all the lawlessness, deceitfulness, scandals, breaks my heart. As I'm sure God and many others feel.
I hope Lord Jesus tarries not in his coming, and I pray that all the saints stand ready and are found worthy.
May the Lord give you all peace, strength, boldness, for the times to come.
Not hard. There is precedent already. If God had not spared Noah, the only life on earth would be fish and maybe birds and bugs.In Matt 24 Jesus said he must put an end to this great tribulation. because if he did not . no life (flesh) would survive.
imagine a world where an extinction event is possible

I dont think thats a contradiction.
What I believe will happen is this:
"By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. "
This is from 2 Peter 3, in which verse 10 talks about the current earth passing away and new one being created.
Notice where it says: "The world of THAT TIME was deluged and destroyed" yet the earth, the planet itself did not get destroyed by the noah's flood. So what I believe takes place is: The earth WILL abide forever but it will be destroyed by FIRE, in a similar fashion as it was back in the days with WATER.
So it will be "purified by fire" so to speak. Does this make sense?
