Anyway have experience with an air fryer? Would you get one again? I have waited to see them on the consignment/flea market scene, being tight with money, or wise and frugal, however you view it, and am interested in what you wise culinary sages have to say.
Just saw 2 Continental brand so wondering if they are the lemons of the brands, you tube videos usually rank others with no mention of "Continental" brand.
Thank you in advance

I bought a hot air popcorn machine over 4 years along with a large jar of Orville Redenbacher popcorn. Never even took the thing out of the box and the jar is still in my pantry unopened. If there is a lesson in this I haven't a clue what it could be. Now, my wife gave me a rice cooker for Christmas a couple years ago and that sort of worked out. At least the rice doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan.

I enjoy my air popper. In did see a you tube where an asian lady cooked a chicken in her rice cooker. Thanks for the input.

I've never heard of that brand, but that doesn't mean anything. Personally I do not like my air fryer, though I cook for a family so for single use it might not be so bad. Basically an air fryer is a counter top convection oven. It circulates air around the food. Personally I use a crisping tray in the oven (copper chef) and get the same or better results without the fuss of having to shake it up mid way through the cook cycle .
cri.jpgAlso clean up is pretty easy. Yes baked on cheese slides right off when fresh and hot and when cooled just a little pressure and it comes right up. I've never been able to get the oil residue out of my air fryer and I've tried just about every cleaning hack I can find.

Best deals have been garage sales, $10 new/unused. We use two at a time cooking anything oven baked and fried. The saved time is precious and there’s no preheating the oven and no house heating I can tell. Brands don’t seem to matter but capacity does. 2 qt for 1-2 servings, 4-5 qt for 2-4 servings.

A great cleanup is with Awesome. It’ll cut that residue oil.

Just looked up Awesome brand cleaners, have seen them, didn't know what to think, there are so many out the, the particular packaging didn't jump out to me as "awesome" but will try it thanks to your recommendation, and it's at Dollar Tree, so it is priced well to try.
( must have something noxious in it to work so well so inexpensively, but that's ok, i'm past having kids so them being born with 6 fingers 4 ears isn't a threat lol!)
Saw one slightly used for $15, so we know they are out there.
best wishes

Awesome @ Dollar Tree? That's awesome, I'll have to keep that in mind. Shittim, let me know how you like it.

Will do sister! Lord bless you and keep you this day and going forward.

I find it in half gallon at Family Dollar. Yellow liquid, got some ammonia in it. My boat was covered all winter, grew a terrific crop of mold that slid off with one application. I renew the kitchen stove vent filter with it back to new condition.

I wouldn't buy one new at $100+ Folks practically giving them away because they are too big/tall for their kitchen counter under cabinets, like Kitchenaid mixers. No place to keep them either, so I got a new $300 machine put back in the box for $50, the seller getting it a year ago for Christmas. Not good to give wife a mixer for Christmas or birthday! Actually useful for diehard bakers. Nice looking, sounds cool, and the attachments are interesting.

I dilute the Awesome for most uses 1:4 water in a spray bottle. I use it straight for the outdoor grill.

you talking bout the Kitchenaid mixer? THIS WIFE got one for a Christmas gift once, one of my most prized possessions:) (hubby even went out of his way to get a custom color)

Ours is red and doesn’t match the kitchen theme so we keep the cover on it.

ammonia removes the copper, have used 7.62 with great success though it is pricey stuff. Can't leave the copper in their what with electrolysis.

:). Well for Her it will be something to wear or drive!
:)
I laugh/smile cuz I know I'm an exception to the "rule". When we first got married hubby said he got all sorts of remarks about the trouble and doghouse he would be in for getting those types of things for birthday/christmas. But for me, I LOVE my kitchen and gadgets so it's fitting;)

you are sweet!
Who me? naaaa..... Hubbies the sweetie (I'm the sour, lol) That's how he is with EVERYTHING! He does his homework on brand/product reviews and makes sure not only that he's getting his bang for his buck but that it is THE ONE I REALLY WANT. His reasoning "You're the one using it, better make sure you like it." It might seem corny, but it makes everything more enjoyable too! (yes even the laundry when it FINALLY makes it to the wash, lol) b/c I am reminded of the thought and love that went into getting things. It's not just "oh we need a new washer lets get this one on sale." He puts a lot of love and thought into things like that and I appreciate it!
