Dear people,

First of all, thanks for reading (:
Second: my question.
A few days ago I readed this verse:

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? [SUP]15 [/SUP]What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[SUP][a][/SUP]? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? [SUP]16 [/SUP]What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:“I will live with them
and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they will be my people.”[SUP][b][/SUP]

[SUP]17 [/SUP]Therefore,
“Come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”[SUP][c][/SUP]

[SUP]18 [/SUP]And,
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.”[SUP][d][/SUP]

Does this mean that we can't be friends with unbelievers? My best friend is an athe"ist and I can't imagine life without him. Why do we wipe away this advice in reality? What's the excuse of people? And.. what's your advice? Thanks for reading again.

Channa.

Surely you have heard the saying "Love the sinner, hate the sin" And that applies

This is not saying don't be friends with them. But I believe it is speaking more about marriage. Like do not marry an unbeliever.
Though it could be talking about friends even. You do not want to attach yourself so close to people who are not following God because they might lead you astray from God's will.
Its peer-pressure and it is very hard not to be pressured like this. You say your best friend is an athiest? Well, if he leads you down a road to reject Christ, then you would need to get away from him. We are not to surround ourselves with people who could lead us away from God.

I am sure your friend is a great person, but without God he is bound to fail. And you do not want to be drug with him.
So be careful and God bless you

Well if your friends curse a lot, drink, smoke, etc then you should keep away. After i got saved i still would try to hang out with my worldly friends but it would not work out. It's best to keep yourself away so you wont get tempted easily and fall back to the person you was before. Always try to preach the gospel to your friends as well and let them know what the lord did for you in your life. God Bless!

Thank you for answering Timay and Taith. I think that I keep hanging with them. Because a) They're my friends b) They ask things about christianity and I answer them (they're really interested).
