Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mom's out there.
You are very special and wonderfully made!
This morning I was gladly surprised to hear the first words that I woke up saying. Since my mother's tragic death recently, I have experienced a number of negative affects from the Satanic attacks from enemies of God, my mother's enemies and who are also my own enemies.
Upon waking my subconscious is the first thing to kick in; which is triggered by stress hormones to get me up, is often a short imprecatory prayer to God about those wicked people. Then I learned to take control of those thoughts and shift to an attitude of gratitude to the Lord until I get to my devotions.
All that said, I was surprised to awaken this morning with the words "I love you Mom."
I said that first while coming out of sleep and it reminds me of the two most important things that I thought about when Mom left.
They left a lasting impression on my soul.
Two words summarize the most important things to me.
Life and Love.
Mom's life was the most important thing. Life still is the most important thing to me.
This weekend I focused on Genesis chapter 3.
And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. 20
One memory I cherish is that Mom told me years ago how much I was loved and wanted before I was even conceived. My parents wanted a boy and they prayed for years that she would get pregnant with a healthy boy. God answered their prayers with a healthy little boy. She knew that I was a direct gift from God.
Mom and Dad loved me with all their hearts.
When I look back, I could always tell Mom each day for weeks before her premature death one thing.
"I love you with all of my heart.". 🥹
She knew that was true and said, "I love you too.".
That's more important than the things of this world.
Love like that is everlasting.
The stuff, the things of this world can be important to us for the time we use them. In perspective of the most important things, life and love, they are not even close.
Mom and I got to share the precious love of a parent and child and I look forward to that lasting forever when we meet again.
Praise the Lord.
