1 Corinthians 7:25-40. What does it mean??

Oh sorry I’m unclear. Is he telling people not to get married?? Or that marriage distances people from God?

1 Corinthians 7:25-40. What does it mean??

25 Now about virgins: I have no command from the Lord, but I give a judgment as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy. 26 Because of the present crisis, I think that it is good for a man to remain as he is. 27 Are you pledged to a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are you free from such a...

Why did God kill the firstborn sons?

Haha this scared me for a minute- I’d forgotten I’d posted these details abt my life! First I want to thank for for giving such a thoughtful reply, but also out of curiousity I wanted to know why you’d recommend not reading the Old Testament until I’m a bit older? :)

Why did God kill the firstborn sons?

I absolutely understand the irony of it- how the previous Pharaoh killed all the Jewish male babies. Though morally this is confusing me…

    Question abt Jacob’s lineage

So I’m finishing up Genesis right now and something struck me as a little strange. Jacob/Israel made Joseph’s son his heir and Judah was not. But from Judah’s tribe comes David, and a long time later Jesus. But Judah wasn’t the heir? Am I reading too much into this? lol but if there is a reason...

    Proverbs 10:18 question

“He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.” (KJV Proverbs 10:18). If you dislike a person and act kind towards them or as if you like them, is that then hypocrisy? I don’t want to encourage conflict or tensions with that person, so why would it be wrong to...

    Confusion on Anger

Yeah but we aren’t God, I’m talking more about anger amongst humans. It’s hard to conceptualize us with righteous anger, because unlike Jesus we don’t know perfectly what is right. I don’t know, this is just why I’m sort of on the fence with this passage, though I totally agree with what you’re...

    Confusion on Anger

    Confusion on Anger

So in the sermon on the mount Jesus says “But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire” (ESV Matthew 5:22). But in Psalms and...

    Where to find Christian Friends?

I’ve just seen a lot of people call atheists a bad influence and sometimes I would like people close to me to talk about the Bible or other things God related :)

    Where to find Christian Friends?

Okay so I get along with a nice amount of people, that isn’t the issue. The problem in that I have one friend that is Christian. That’s it. All my other friends are atheists and agnostics. I find tons of advice online telling me to seek out Christian friends, but I feel like many our age don’t...

    Matthew 22:41-46, question

So in this verse I partially understand how Jesus is laying the beginnings of introducing himself as the son of God. However what confused me was how he was arguing against himself being the son of David, because isn’t he a descendant of David? If anyone could clarify that would be wonderful.
