Sure, you may ask. Nothing really. I had considered it mostly ceremonial and not essential and just never got around to it, but others on this forum have expressed that it is something I should take seriously.

Thank you everybody for all your generous responses. I have read every one. I don't think I have a humility issue. And I don't believe it was a faith or belief issue. It is true that I have never been baptized in a church. It has been on my radar but I never considered it critical mass, but...

    1. Probably not. Can I remember everyone I might have a reason to forgive, definitely not. I try to conduct myself appropriately, even when I have a reason to be angry and I try to not hold animosity in my heart. I am perfect in this? I'm sure God could produce a lengthy list, but I can't. There...

No scripture reference. If you don't know, The Chosen is a TV series about Jesus and the Apostles. They try to stay biblically correct while trying to give an idea of what it must have been like to be around Jesus, in those locations, in those times, trying to understand his teachings, etc. It...

I see your point. I was not raised in a religious environment and innitialy sought out biblical knowlege mostly on my own. I didn't even attend church until later in life and even then I joined the worship team because I wanted to be involved and didn't want to fall asleep in a pew. But I think...

I keep coming back to this post as I have never been baptized, thinking it was more ceremonial than nessesary and that the Spirit is the true vehicle of baptism. But you may be onto something and these scriptures strongly support what you are saying. I am not afraid of getting wet and have...

Thanks RA, I see your point. I am not making a case against baptism but trying to understand how it may play into answering my question. Is the power of prayer affected by one being baptised? I other words, if you have not been baptised, God Will not respond to your prayers but after baptism...

Thank you Marilyn, I appreciate your thoughtful response. This reminds me of a response I made to another post. I do not take my Christian education from TV shows but the Chosen specifically highlighted little James and Ramah not being healed because Jesuses miracles where targeted and...

So, in short, he was baptised not by water but by the Spirit.

Thanks Sawdust. I appreciate your straight forwardness. And thank you for your prayers. I don't think I have 40 years but who knows, didn't Adam live something like 900 years? I'll need a better retirement plan!

You are quick to judge and I don't think you read my full post. I believed as a child before I knew what "religion" was. Then I sought out the word and I believed. Then I sought out fellowship and community and church and community worship and I believed. I believed until I came to realise...

Thank you, I have not been baptized. I thought the necessity for that was gone after the crucifixion and we only do it now out of tradition but if you think it will help, and is something important that I am missing in my faith journey, I am very open minded to it.

Thanks BillyBob, I appreciate your positive and uplifting thoughts on this. You are very perceptive. I was watching the Chosen. I do not get my biblical education from a TV show, however I struck by Jesus not raising Ramah, and choosing not to heal Little James. I admit, I can relate to their...

Thanks Karlon, I'm pretty sure I am not the first person to have doubts. Was it Isaiah or Jeremiah who proclaimed how stupid people were who believed in gods made of wood or stone. Dead gods that had no power to answer their prayers. But what if prayer to the Father and the Son and the Holy...

I appreciate the verses Bluto. I will read them. I may be complaining but sometimes complaining is the correct response. I am not pompous, or angry, or demanding. I am just questioning if my believes are valid. Maybe reading these verses will bless me with some insight. I appreciate it, thanks.

I appreciate that attitude. For me, I have to believe in things that are real. I am struggling with a contradiction that calls that into question. It is a very uncomfortable place to be.

Could Trump do anything to make you stop supporting him?

JD is a smart guy, can handle himself with the media, seems like a capable person, but not the best pick in my humble opinion. I hate identity politics with a passion but it would have been symbolically great to pick Byron Donalds. He is sharp, an icy cold interviewee with killer instincts, and...

Doesn't He know the limits of my strength? Why test a thing you know is going to fail? To prove I need Him? Its already obvious and known and confessed.
