God's will isn't being done automatically. If it was he wouldn't tell us to pray. It has to do with the authority God has given man upon the earth.

It is done by allowing Christ to live through us by faith rather than doing the living ourselves through will power. The fruit of the Spirit is his fruit that comes as a result of letting God lead our thought life. We are dead and our life is hid in Christ.
