the word "crush"! never had 1. don't know what it's like. never had kids but had a few girlfriends who had kids so once in a while, i was a dad.

while growing up, mom & dad raised us as catholic so we celebrated lent. we had to give up sweets. by course, when they weren't around we ate them.

not fasting. i haven't heard of born again Christians involving themselves in a lent ritual. some people are more observant by reading the Bible more & sacrificing this or that. during christmas & easter, i do read more Christian literature.

i certainly ought to handle being called any name. why? my parents called us every derogatory name that existed back in the 60's thru 70's. becoming a Christian is why i can handle it. it's been decades since i'v been called anything but i learned to laugh at it.

it seems most people don't like sports because they don't understand them. same with games or any other subject. i remember once, a girlfriend i had, didn't like the card game pinochle. so i spent some time teaching it to her, she caught on, played decently well & she said, "i like this game...

a ubiquitous truth. i remember once, for a month, all i had for money was a jar of pennies, not even a dollar to my name. but that was because the band, in 1982, splurged on a whole pa sound system & a bought a new drum set.

wealthy people are taught by their accountants, parents, friends & experiences in life to be on guard all the time. there's much to protect & they train themselves to not let anything or anyone take it away from them.

what area are you talking about, or what country? one can easily discern who is wealthy & who isn't. but i understand your statement. sometimes rich people play that game to find out what category someone is in. because they may be thinking of becoming friends is 1 reason.

i'm surprised to see so many people not watching sports. i wonder if a large # of people outside of the u..s.a. are not naturally in the habit of viewing sports.
