I watched about 5 minutes. As soon as he stated “ This is a requirement” I knew he was teaching “Works” salvation.

Well again, he was speaking to a Pharisee who would have been familiar with Temple practices of purification and water. Does that have any bearing on what He said? I really don’t know. How do you respond to my question though?

Again, we would need to consider who he was speaking with. Also, Jesus preached that faith in Him alone brings atonement for sin. Why would He require an act to be part of that?

I don’t think Jesus is arbitrary when it comes to salvation. I know why it’s important, but it is not a requirement to be covered by the Blood of Christ. And I agree, one should not wait until close to death to accept.

I wouldn’t say our faith is in vain by not be baptized. Catholics and Eastern Orthodox believe that hence why they baptize infants.

Well the hypothetical “ If I die before” could come about for some people. Again I point to the thief that was saved while hanging on the cross who was not baptized. If we have the chance to do it, we should absolutely do so.

You made an excellent point about finding a man who is God h You hit the mark with that Brother. Emotions can become a stumbling block and cause one to fall into continued sin. Took me a long time to figure that out unfortunately.

I don’t know how to feel about the state of the Churches overall. On one hand it’s tragic to see that human greed, pride, and false doctrine has infiltrated the body, but on the other this has been going on since the time of the Apostles. The more things change the more they stay the same.
