All scripture should be studied, and applied where appropriate....you guys are missing my point....the gospels were not written for you directly, applying them or teaching anyone to do so, only creates confusion....obviously much of what Jesus was teaching can be applied to all of us and should...

You obviously have attempted to apply the book of Matthew to your life, in doing so have become like the Galatians that Paul called fools....you are a fool if you do not understand what Christ did for you...applying the gospel to your life is heiracy and you will see the fruit of your error play...

Effective and cleansing for who? Following Matthew, applying it to the finished work of the cross, is heiracy....it makes Christ’s gift to us void...it was written for the lost sheep of Israel, and applied to a people under the law....why would Jesus want you live as though he did not die for you?
