    Various Moral Issues

So, the first time I murder someone, the fine won't be too bad.... and you still didn't say how the value of a human life would be calculated... I'm not really sure I'm "aware" how much more "fair" this would be. Perhaps for non-violent crimes.... it would actually make a little more...

What monetary value do you put on a life? Are poor people ok to murder, because it won't take as long to pay it off?

That's why I said I would make an exception for military members. People in the military are usually, not always, but usually more mature, or at least more disciplined than the average 18 yr old still living at home, having momma doing all his laundry for him... If an 18 yr old is old enough...

Big difference.... drugs are not protected in our Constitution. They are not an inalienable right. Same way with automobiles, and nearly anything else. You could argue that drugs would be somewhat protected under the "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness", but I don't think that...

I've seen cats sitting about 30 feet apart, meowing at each other, then it usually degrades into growling, and either a fight or retreat.

No, it didn't bother me. Mary's house is treated as a shrine by the Catholics, of course. But it doesn't bother me. The food was wonderful. The real Mediterranean diet... We saw so many things, it's difficult to describe. The old city of Ephesus, the Agora and Acropolis in Athens...

Yes, it was a very humbling experience to see those spots... A picture of the line of people waiting to simply walk through Mary's house, no stopping, no photos... just walk through. The only part that was original was the floor, but they rebuilt the house based on other buildings current to...

We also got to visit the house where Mary lived out the rest of her life, in the hills above Ephesus. Historically, it is said that John established her residence there, to keep her safe from the persecution of the church, before he was banished to Patmos....

off topic a bit, but was meaningful to me... about 3 weeks ago, I was standing on the top of the hill that Paul was on when he preached to the Athenians.... the Areopolis, Mars hill... it's just below the Acropolis there in Athens. Meant a lot to me.

Our church just had our annual fun fest in the parking lot... many of the small group folks will set up some type of game for kids to compete in, to "win" candy and goodies.. we get a rather large turnout from the neighborhoods around... they have costume contests, bounce houses, etc...

Not that I noticed.... he did imply that Big Nose Kate might be the anti-christ, since she encouraged him to continue with his hedonistic lifestyle after the doctor told him to slow it down... I don't recall any other references to Satan, offhand....
