Hello! I find this scripture to be very encouraging:

2 Corinthians 9: 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Sadly financial giving is one area where pressure can be exerted on people in some churches, but everyone should be free to give as they choose, without pressure. When people are free to give as they choose it can bring great joy to them and really build their faith.

Some people find giving 10% to be helpful for them, good for them, but I don't think it should be extended to be like a compulsory tax.
Tithing in the Old Testament was slightly different from a modern concept of giving 10% of a wage: Deuteronomy 14:23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.

In the OT the tithe was eaten by the giver, on a specific day, in a specific place, Jerusalem. God Bless All :)

Perhaps you overlooked the details: those who sold lands weren’t selling their primary residence, but what would be called today “investment properties”, it was not 100% of their income at all. Ananias and Sapphira sought to mislead the people but they were under no obligation to give anything.

People who merely request biblical basis for a practice or teaching are in no way rebellious. Unfortunately, the charge of rebellion is very common from “leaders” who teach tithing. It’s baseless slander. It’s guilt-tripping people into compliance. It’s disgusting.
Oh I wasn't mislead about anything I mentioned from my understanding from the Passage about the subject within the Book of Acts. And I never said they were obligated even though there's no clarification anywhere if they were. So you are leading the Scripture to the direction you choose but it’s rather mute either way. We just know people were selling and giving 100% of the proceeds to the church. Which is example enough people following the Bible could be doing the same today and they would be obeying the Scripture.

Malachi 3:“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.

Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. 12 “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.

To those who Tithe, have you got blessings you were not expecting???

You ask for those that tithe

What about offerings over tithing 2 Cor 8.9.10
is it only about 10% or more about a willing heart, to even given more than whatever pone has here presently. To when, who, where as Dad calls anyone to do?

This new life is much deeper than just Law and Order a have to or else attitude. I see and am elated as can be in thanksgiving and praise to Father, Son as Won (One) for us all to love all in the same mercy and truth given first, by Son goin g willingly to that cross to save us in his resurrection, once anyone believes this truth for them to rest in trust to Dad, PaPa, Father

God loves a cheerful giver. And desires fro anyone e to give as they have to give. Not a Tithe Law anymore, as I see this presently, humbly in trust to a loving merciful God for us all.

God gives gave freely, started with Son's done work for all. I do not deserve this gift, anyone else?

What you have said is important as well as those who give their time to help others including the giving of material things.

no. i used to. i tithed 10% & more for decades. in addition to tithing, i gave away money to many organizations, people & gave truck loads of antiques & old items to churches & people. i didn't feel i received blessings i didn't expect. i felt i worked for everything i received. & i worked very hard, diligently, meaningfully, gratefully, & desirously. funny thing is after i stopped tithing, that's when i felt Jesus blessing me. many unexpected blessings arrived.
