The title itself proves the point: 'We played no part in Jesus' sacrifice on the cross' is so obviously false, that it gets lost in all the imaginative ideological bromides, that would say we played no part in Jesus' death on a cross.

And since it's physically false, then the ideology is false, that says man plays no part in our own salvation by Jesus' death on the cross. If no man played part in Jesus' work of sacrifice for sins, means that no man can play part in Jesus' work of salvation from sins. Then, if any man played part in the work of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, then every man must also play part in the work of Jesus' salvation from sins.

I.e. did Jesus do all the work of sacrificing Himself for sins, by Himself alone? Or, did any man play a part in His crucifixion on the cross?

The answer is of course obvious, when all the theological airs are brought down to solid ground of an old rugged cross .

Act 2:23
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Wicked hands of sinful men played their own part in the work of Jesus, the Lamb of God, being sacrificed for sins on earth.

Luk 24:7
Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Why must the Son of man be crucified by sinful men on earth? For sins of man? Yes. And also because of sins of men. For if men had not sinned, then the Son of man need not be crucified for sins. And also if men had not sinned against Him at the cross, then He had not been crucified at all.

Sinful men was the cause and means of Jesus' work of sacrifice by crucifixion. Does no cause and means of a work, play part in the work? It does, else work is no more work. And sacrifice is no more sacrifice.

But did only those sinful men play part in Jesus' crucifixion? No, also we, as well as all men that have sinned against Christ, have played our part in the work of crucifying Jesus' body on a tree. Did He die for their sins only? No, also for ours. Did He die because of their sins against Him, yes, also because of ours.

And not only by cause and means, but also by law of God, all men are judged guilty of having part in the shedding the blood of Jesus Christ in sacrifice for sins:

Deu 19:9
If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways;…That innocent blood be not shed in thy land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and so blood be upon thee.

Rom 3:19
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

By law, all the land is guilty of the innocent blood shed thereon. But Jesus was not only a born Son of Mary in Judea, but was the Son of man on earth. Therefore, all the earth, and sinful nations and people of the earth, are judged guilty of shedding in the innocent blood of the Lamb of God on earth.

By Scripture and by law of God, any man that says he played no part in the crucifixion work of Jesus' sacrifice for sins, is saying he has not sinned against Christ on earth, and that He had no part nor guilt in shedding His innocent blood unto death.

Since all men that have sinned played our part in crucifying the Son of man, then all men that sinned must have part in the salvation of the Son of God:

Acts{3:19}
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

Cor {7:10}
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of:

We that played our part in nailing Jesus to a tree, must also repent of our own sins against Him at the cross. He must come to die for our sins by our sinful hands, we by reason and cause must repent of killing Him by our sins and trespasses.

Isa 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

No man can be saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, without first repenting of our own sinful work in His sacrifice for sins on the cross.

Luk 3:8
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

Gal 5:11
And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.

The offence of the cross, is that all men have played part in crucifying Christ.

The offence of the cross, is not only that Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross, which all people of the land knew, and many rejoiced. But rather, that all sinners are made guilty by God for His Son's crucifixion sacrifice on the cross.

1 Cor 15:2
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Within the gospel news of Christ dying for our sins, is the condemnation that Christ because of our sins. Becuase men have sinned, Christ must die for sins.

Act 5:28
Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

Burt, not only because of the sins of them that slew Him with wicked hands, must Christ die, but also because of our own sins against Him.

It's bad enough to hear that the only begotten Son of God is crucified by sinful men, but to then hear that everyone who has sinned on earth, is likewise guilty of His innocent blood? That is the offence of the cross, that for them who repent, is the gospel of the cross to be justified by His resurrection.

But them that are offended at the cross, because say their own sins played no part in Jesus' bodily sacrifice? They refuse to repent of all their own sins, because they do not believe they themselves are as such 'evil' sinners, as those others guilty of His shed blood.

Like the unrepentant Jews of old with the blood of the prophets on their hands, so do some Christians today justify themselves, and say they had no part in the sacrifice death of God's Son, nor would they have forsaken Him to the cross alone:

Mat 23:29
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

Mat 26:35
Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

There is no person that has sinned on earth, that played no part in Jesus' crucifixion, nor in forsaking Him to hang alone unto death.

Rom 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

For have sinned and played part in the death of the Son of God.

Saying we have no part in our own salvation of Jesus Christ from sins, is saying we have no part of our own in His sacrifice for sins.

1Jo 1:10
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Act 5:28
Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.

An apologist may say, Being crucified is not the work of sacrifice, that only Jesus could do.

Any practical man will say, Without being crucified, there is no work of sacrifice by crucifixion at all.

1Co 2:8
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

A spiritualist may say, All the work of Jesus' sacrifice for sins, was done only by Him through the Spirit.

Any Scriptural man will say, If all the work of sacrifice was spiritual alone, then the death of sacrifice for sins was not bodily, but only 'in spirit'.

1 Peter 2:23
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,

It sounds like I should claim a little of the credit for the work a man did replacing the flat tire on his car because I was the one that punctured it.
I think in this scenario; the guy knows you slashed his tires, and if you deny it instead of taking "credit" (admitting fault, basically) and settling things outside of court he will have you thrown in jail.

No credit to the flesh nature, born of the first Adam. No flesh can please God, after Son's flesh pleased Father for us all first, done once for all. Hebrews 10:10, 1 John 2:1-27. to respond to God being in thanksgiving and praise to not use it for any self gain over anything here on earth. To trust Father in all things, thanks to the done work of Son first.
That is done by Son on that cross. Reconciliation 2 Cor 5:17-20, is it time to ask Father, Daddy, PaPa for the new life in the risen Son to live through us with Father, the Holy Spirit leading in love and mercy to all, training. us wha tis best to do, how to respond in the same love and mercy of Son first?
Farther and Son are the healers for us to see to agree to not harm others ever again, to stop impulses of the flesh that end up harming others
Thank you Father for loving us all first through Son's done work! Respond in love and mercy to all

Crucifying Jesus on a cross was not puncturing a tire. Nor did He come to fix a flat.

Not bad. Thanks. It fits the fact that by repentance, any man can be forgiven of Jesus' crucifixion for our sins, that we all did to Him, not just them that slew Him almost 2000 years ago.

In any case, it proves the whole self-righteous dystopianism of being justified by faith alone in the work of Jesus' sacrifice on a cross. Because we had no part in His work of sacrifice by crucifixion at men's hands.
