Is the dog going to be OK. I would try some spray rug cleaner and a little scrub brush. Vacuum after. Sad about the dog though.
Didn't work. Unfortunately the blood had dried before I found it. I tried oxy clean and it didn't work.
She's fine, just short a toenail. She ran around the living room floor, so I've got about a hundred spots.
Hydrogen Peroxide 3% might be another option, I use it for stains in the ceramic tile and it works well.

Cold water with a lot of salt in it and a good scrubbing brush , hope your dog is ok

That spray&wash laundry stain remover stuff has worked a charm for me.
Subdues all kinds of stains in carpets, including a puddle of fresh dog urine.
Removed as it if never was, Just spray it on and rub it out.

We had a few bad days. She would lick her toe and get it to bleed a little. We solved that problem with a little baking powder. She's as frisky as ever.

Aww, both of my brothers are carpet guys and for long enough that I have got to see them removing blood from carpet. It was a small bottle of cleaner that is called Red Out and they get it at the carpet supply. Sorry I didnt read this until after you called in the carpet guys. Did they do ok cleaning it up? Did it cost you a fortune?
They did a good job and since they cleaned the entire carpet, the price was reasonable.

Blood is in a league all it's own though and very hard to get out. I seen my brothers use it a few times. They used it more for when they cut their self and bled on the customers new carpet. Time for a New Blade! They used a small brush with the Red Out like a toothbrush.
I grieved over it but I finally took the carpets out of my home except for the bedrooms. We have a lady dog and had one before her and even with their "special diapers" accidents would/do happen. We decided it was the best choice, someone had left bleach stains before we moved in that we hid with mats. It was the best decision we ever made. So much easier to clean the house. I bought a rug from Amazon for the living room that can be tossed in the washer. Glad to hear your pooch is ok.
