I see many people following the same path here as I puzzled over for a long time. Ancient writers would sometimes invoke some historic person and place words in their mouth to address an issue that could not be addressed otherwise. Now, how many humans are known to have lived before any part of God's law was presented? I will give you a hint, it is a whole number less than 2. Paul was born well after the laws God gave to Noah, for general humanity, or Moses, for the Jews, so how could he have lived before God's law?

That is where one, anyone that chooses to believe God, God steps in and begins to teach each. I did not always listen to the teachings of God, rather I listen to religions and other people claiming they know God and we are to listen to them as if they know best.

Matthew 23:15
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
And oh yes I got made that above by: Being told to not sin again and I better quit or else. I tried, I found out about Romans 7 and see it clearly now, how I got put under Law through religion and fortunately I wanted to know God and not be God. God never giving up on me
So Father stood, stands with me. as well as all others too. To see and be new and no longer under Law, Yet now Upholding Law as good, God teaching in love and mercy of Son as risen daily. I praise Father in adversities now too. Like Paul when was in Jail. He did not stop praising God. The Jail help saw that and wondered who praises while in troubles. Paul did, no matter what
Jail help came to belief. It is God's love flowing through us that others see and get perplexed and come to belief too
