Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

According to this verse that is written to believers in the church, what is the will of God that has been made known unto us and why is it a mystery? Why is the church a mystery and fellowship a mystery and the kingdom a mystery (Mk 4:11)? Why is this word mystery found in the NT writings some (22) times with (17) of them relating to the church? Why is the church and all these things relating to the church such a mystery? Then we find in (Rev 10:7) this ...

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

When we look at the church today do we see it as a mystery and the things pertaining to it? How do we explain this passage in (Col 2:2,3)...

2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Has everything about the church in terms of wisdom and knowledge been made known or is there still some hid treasures to be revealed in the mystery of Christ. I am not speaking or referring to adding to the written word that we have been given but to the hid treasures of wisdom and knowledge within the written word that reveals the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, of the Father and of Christ, who is the head of the church.

Does God reveal the mystery of His will within the church that is hid with Christ in God (Eph 3:9, Col 3:3) or does He reveal it outside His people that are knit together in the love of God? Should the church be a mystery to this present world in which we live? If so, in what way should it remain a mystery? How do we maintain the presentation of the gospel as a mystery (Eph 6:19)? Is not the unsearchable riches of Christ that which we are to preach so that all men may see the fellowship of the mystery that has been hid in God from the beginning of the world (Eph 3:8,9)? What are these unsearchable riches in Christ that we are to preach? Have they been revealed to us and if so, what are they?

what of this use of the word "mystery" red?

Revelation 17:5
And on her forehead a name was written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT,THE MOTHER OF HARLOTSAND OF THE ABOMINATIONSOF THE EARTH.

It's a mystery that goes all the way back to the offering that Cain had made to the Lord that was rejected that is tied into humanism and the tower of Babel, the false church and the mystery of iniquity that is now working in this present evil world in which we live (2Thes 2:7a). This mystery will be revealed exactly as it is, during the time of the great tribulation as the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. The church will not be here to witness this mystery being manifested and going into perdition, but the nation of Israel will, because it is their lot, and they will be delivered.

What do you think about these other mysteries that relate to the church here and now?

Of the verses I've read so far. the use of the word "mystery" is a topic that is veiled until God reveals it to the world.

Ephesians 3
To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all see what is the fellowship[a] of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. 13 Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,[c] 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 3

16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God[c] was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen by angels,
Preached among the Gentiles,
Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.

Not all Israel is of Israel (Rom 9:6). Jacob's name was changed to be called Israel, who represents spiritual Israel (God's elect) which includes people from every kindred, and tongue, and people, nation (Rev 5:9). God blinded the eyes of most of spiritual Israel because they turned away from him and worshiped idols who are known as the lost sheep of Jacob/Israel, but God reserved a remnant of Israel in which he revealed the mystery of the doctrine of Christ. (Rom 11 & Zeph 3:11-13).
