The chapters in this series that have been completed are: 14-13, 6-7, 19, and now comes Chapter 20.

Rev. 20:1
"And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand."

Notice the angel does not have the loud or great voice that distinguishes the angel of Rev. 1:1 throughout the revelation.

So this is John having the key of the bottomless pit to constrain Lucifer.

Rev. 20:2
"And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,"

"And Lucifer was bound from tempting mankind to do evil for a thousand years."

Rev. 20:3
"And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season."

This verse is easy to understand.

Rev. 20:4
a) "And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them,
.....b) and judgment was given unto them:
..........c) and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus,
...............d) and for the word of God,
..........c) and which had not worshipped the beast,
.....b) neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands;
a) and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

This verse has two groups of individuals. Those to whom judgment was given (Rev. 7:4-8) via the sealing at the marriage (Rev. 19:5-8), and those who sacrificed their lives for their testimonies.

Nevertheless, both groups participate during the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ. The first continue serving the Savior, as well as his saints. The second receive their resurrected body, to live in eternity with Christ

Rev. 20:5
"But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection."

This verse makes it clear that Rev. 20:4 was the first resurrection. The remainder of those who died the mortal death will not be resurrected until the thousand years are over.

Rev. 20:6
"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

Those of the first resurrection keep their resurrected body. Those of the second resurrection are subject to a judgment where some will die the death of the resurrected body. Thus, some will not be allowed to keep their resurrected body. This is the second death. The death of the resurrected body.

Rev. 20:7
"And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,"

After the thousand years is over, Satan tempts man again.

Rev. 20:8
"And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea."

After the thousand years are over, the people of the earth are in two camps, God and Magog. And they come to battle.

Rev. 20:9
"And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them."

Gog and Magog against the saints of God.

Rev. 20:10
"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

Here we see Lucifer being judged to eternal hell forever.

Rev. 20:11
And I saw a great white throne,
.....and him that sat on it,
.....from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away;
and there was found no place for them.

And in this verse, the duration of mankind is over. No one else is born into mortality. And it is time to judge the wicked.

Rev. 20:12
"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."

The spiritually dead, having been resurrected, stand before God. Their deeds from mortality are now exposed. And they are judged according to those deeds.

Rev. 20:13
"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

In this verse, we see the spiritually dead resurrected and judged. And in particular those who followed death and hell (Rev. 6:8), the beast and false prophet (Rev. 13:1, Rev. 13:11).

Rev. 20:14
And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

And the beast of Rev. 13:1 and his false prophet of Rev. 13:11, as well as their followers, die the second death to live without a physical body forever.

Rev. 20:15
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

There are some details in this verse, but its literal reading is sufficient.
