These are words to a song.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in his wonderful face and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of his glory and grace.

Sometimes we tend to look at the wrong things, like focusing on ourselves when we really need to focus on Jesus.

I have said a prayer for you and your repentance.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!! ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Trust/faith/believing is a matter of informed consent.
It sounds like you know the facts.
Jesus suffered plenty and died for all of our sins past, present and future. Anything people try to do, thinking it helps pay for sin, is an insult to the grace of God at best.
That person remains condemned because they deem God's sacrifice inadequate by continuing to trust their own righteous works.

Now it's an easy matter to stop putting faith in yourself and instead making Jesus Christ the sole object of your faith. That's actually what the term repentance refers to in regards to salvation.

1. The wages of sin is death and the Hell that entails. Romans 6:23kjv. Revelation 21:8 KJV

2. Good works cannot save.
What are some good works?
Baptism, serving the Lord, treating others with the golden rule, giving your life to Christ, turning from sins (obedience to the law), avoiding big sins, trying to do good to outweigh bad, sacraments.
Isaiah 64 tells us
6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags

Our good works aka righteousness never paid for one sin . It would be absurd and insulting to toss our filthy rags to the cross, wouldn't it?

3. Jesus suffered and died for all sins we ever committed and ever will commit. He was buried and arose on the third day.

He deserves ALL of the glory and credit. If we hold onto confidence in our good works, it's as if we are telling God that His only Begotten Son didn't do enough, so we have to trust our own good works too.

The word faith and believe are the same.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians

16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Before someone can be saved, they have to see the fact that they are condemned and no good works can save us.
We know for a fact that God the Father sent His only Begotten Son to suffer and die for all our sins.
Then you change your mind, and decide that you are now putting your trust, Not in self, but 100% in Jesus Christ to save you. It's as easy as that.
Then there are many promises that God will never leave you or forsake you. You are saved forever. Everlasting Life is the gift He paid for that never ends or is taken back. God is not an Indian giver.

If that makes sense then I will lead you in prayer to receive the free gift.

Dear Jesus,

Thank you for revealing to me my guilty and condemnation.
Thank you for suffering for all my sins so I don't have to go to hell to suffer.
I believe that You really did die on the cross for me, paying for them all. Your body was in the tomb three days and you arose back to life.
I now receive Your free gift of everlasting Life by faith in You alone. I know that You will keep Your promise and take me to Heaven when I die.
Thank You for saving me Jesus!

Amen

I John 5
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR EXPLANATIONS AND REMINDERS !
Yes, i know the facts, but ironically catched myself more than once in the ast weeks and months to „try to make someting good again“ after sinning in my thoughts against God. I prayed the prayer and thank you for the reminder to just put all the trist we humaly habe in ourselves to put in Jesus.
The problem is withoutreal repentance no grace t sais. Somy brain, like probably the worst atheist knows that I am a sinner.
But does my heart know ? something changed in my heart. So the Q i wonder about is, is my shallow repentance enough that Jesus saves me and revives my faith ?

The degree or depth of repentance isn't as important as consistency in repentance. It's something we walk out every day. If you feel like you're not walking in a way that's consistent with repentance, ask the Lord every time you pray to remind you to be repentant.

Repentance from sins is something you should do daily AFTER you place all of your trust in Christ for His gift.

When the Pharisees taught that the law was the means of salvation to Israel, Jesus rebuked them and His apostles had to sternly correct the churches they started because false teachers crept in. They were teaching false doctrine that the people were not saved by grace alone through faith in the Savior. They were taught things like keeping the law including circumcision.
Today's way of saying that is "repent of your sins and get baptized in water."
Baptism is taught in the Bible, but it is a work of righteousness only applies to those who are already saved apart from works.
For instance, the Ethiopian was baptized only after he believed on Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
The water was not the power of God unto salvation, Jesus was.
The man read the Bible but he needed to believe the Person that was described in that passage.
His faith was not in his obedience to baptism or keeping the law (turning from sins). Those last things should be a part of our walk with the Lord after salvation. They don't keep us saved either. They are reasonable expectations of our Father of His children.
Acts 8

35Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus. 36And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 37And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. 38And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Likewise, there's been someone influencing you as also happened with me, that much sorry and turning from sins must occur for salvation to occur. This is a false teaching. God doesn't look at our tears as payment for sins. Remorse doesn't save. Judas Iscariot was remorseful and he died and went to his own place.
The Father looks upon the Son, on His blood atonement as the payment in full.

I would read John ch. 3< up to verse 18. Then I would pray that prayer above once more. This time just do it knowing that your sorry brings you to Christ, but the tears are not included as payment for any sins. That would be the proper perspective according to the Scriptures. Then those promises from I John 5 in my previous post will apply.

God bless you friend.
I am praying for you.

I'll join you in prayer... Matthew 18:20 When two or more people come together in my name, I am there with them.
God is in this and will work things for your good. Remember, Jesus died to save us and it's with His power, not ours. Being saved isn't based in how good we are and praise God for that...!

May God guide you, convict your heart of what's wrong and let you know very clearly that you are valued and saved, in Jesus' name, amen.

As for what you can physically do, as Jesus said, Go and sin no more...
Make the effort, God is a heart reader; He will see your effort and thoughts, stepping in to help you. You're brother the first, not the last to suffer from unclean thoughts, may God help us all, myself included, in Jesus' name, amen.

Be blessed!

thank you very much for the video and your good reminders: Yes, no tears can make good what Ive done, good to be reminded me of that.
But then, Repentence means turn from sin, and it seems my sins get more and more, it sits deep and Im so desensitized to it instead of hating it.

I pray every day that God helps me to hate my sin and to love him more… nothing…

I think I believe in Jesus, but who knows I dont feel anything and also lack a new mind/ perspective of Life.

You know as I read your answer I thought of John the Baptist who was sent from God to prepare the ppl for Jesus by repenting.
Also, the first thing Jesus said in his active Years is „repent“.
But anyway, I shortly heard that repentance and faith are the sides of the same coin, and some preachers say first repentance and then comes the faith.
I lack both. Maybe I should ask for orayers to hate my sin and fear God deeply (in a good way)

Amen... And I understand, but there's no point giving up. It will still be a reality that we need Jesus and that He will step in to help where we need. He WILL see us through and build a tough character that can withstand the world.
Also, just responding to another post you put, don't pray to a Jesus you think exists, that's not beneficial (James 1:6-8). Pray to the Jesus you know exists, is listening and will answer you with the right answer in the right moment. Prayer with faith will be answered.
I'll keep you in my prayers, may you be blessed more that's you already are.

I understand why you might think that the term "repent" means "turn from your sins."
There are a LOT of famous false preachers who repeat that wrong definition that I have to admit to believing it before. Then I looked it up in the Greek language and studied every use of the word in the Bible. Do you know what I found?

A. God repented first, clear back in Genesis 6.
Is God a sinner?

B. God repented more than anyone recorded in the Bible.
According to Ray comfort, Billy Graham and many others, God must have sinned more than anyone else if we were to use their false definition.

C. The true definition does not contain any of the words used for "sin" in the original languages.

D. The word repent has been twisted to mean what the Pharisees taught and the reason Jesus rebuked them so sternly. They taught that you must be obedient to the law to be saved.
The modern way preachers preach the same as the Pharisees heresy is guess what?
Turning from sin is not taught as the means of salvation.

E. What does the word "repent " really mean?
Answer: to change ones mind or to reconsider.
This is what God did time and time again. That is not a sin.

F. Does the word repent sometimes involve a changing of ones mind in regards to sin?
Only when the context clearly states so.
1) In regards to a nation averting judgement
2) It applies to the born again believer who is saved, but needs to be restored to fellowship with the Father. The unbeliever is not commanded to turn from all his sins. The believer is however and to walk in love with God and his neighbor.
3). The unsaved are to reconsider and change their minds about the object of their faith. Then they are to make Jesus the Object of their personal faith, without adding works like turning from sins.

Even with John the Baptist, he preached to Israel in generality and to individuals specifically. When he led someone to Christ to be saved, this was what HE meant by repentance. Acts 19:4 KJV

4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

So we see that John was preaching the same gospel that the others preached. The lost need to be saved how?
Believe on Christ Jesus. He did not add any works of repentance to that message.
Titus 3:5 KJV

Here's an.example of false teaching by Ray Comfort about his personal definition. It's a few minutes long. The pastor in the pulpit, however is clarifying the issue.

I'm taking time to clarify this for you because I had to study this topic for myself. Most pastors, evangelists and missionaries didn't find it worth their time or the souls of their people to do word studies on the subject.
Please bookmark and read again until you can remember this. Check it out for yourself.
You should use the Traditional King James text when doing so.
The phrase " repent of your sins" as Ron Comfort and other false preachers use it, will not be found : unless however you go to The Book of Mormon and another fake new testament. It's in the Quran too. False religions teach a heavy works based false gospel.

You use a name several times in your post, and each time you use it, it has been used wrongly.

Find the name, know its power, have repentance.

God never repented. He doesnt need to. He s perfect. Sorry to disagree here.
