If we are studying God's Word then there is no desperate need for us to belong to any congregation , it's good for us to go to church for sure but , reading God's Word for ourselves is absolutely essential in my opinion . Through reading His Word then we can identify whether or not a congregation is following in the right path , we can know wether they are being led astray or not . So , it's great if you can find a good congregation for sure , but it's much much more important for us to b built up into the Truth by our own desire to hear and understand His Word , to read what He us saying to us in His living Word , the Bible . It must dwell in our hearts and minds and that can only happen by very regular reading of it . Just my opinion on this subject , other opinions r available 😁 .

While I agree with this quote (above) when Bible study leads you to the church it’s a good idea to support that entity. I certainly see the day approaching.

Heb 10:25 KJV - 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Nah 1:5 KJV - 5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
2Pe 3:10, 12 KJV - 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. ... 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

And what will is not being influenced by either the Spirit or the flesh?

I'll make one more attempt to explain the function. BEcause I'm touched with a bit of OCD :whistle:

To quote a single sentence quotes out of someone else's post...

Move your cursor to the beginning of the sentence and double click it and hold when you see the blue highlighter and "drag it across the rest of the sentence until all the words contained in the sentence is highlighted and then let up (and the 'reply' prompt should materialize so that you can then click on it (and it will teleport you to your new post with the formatting for the quote you want to reply to already written out.
Once there, make sure that your cursor is not 'between the two bracketed capitalized "QUOTE" housing the referenced quote. The formatting will display it as having one of these at the beginning as well as at the end of the quote. If you anyway write between these quote brackets, the formatting will add your text into the quote, and it'll look like that you've misquoted the other person (very confusing). So, just place your cursor on the line below these before you begin constructing your reply and, once you've written your thoughts, then click "Post reply."

This will work for entire paragraphs also if you continue dragging to highlight all the text you'd like to include in blue. But only what you've encased in blue highlight will be formatted in the quote for your new post.

Let me know whether I should 'try again.' Really, I would be more than happy to. :LOL:

Thanks for all your comments. The question was asked “How does God lead his people today and how does he keep his people united?” As best as I can tell, the consensus is that God leads his people today by the written words of his leaders thousands of years ago (the Bible) and that the Holy Ghost will keep the true followers of Christ united. I really do love this concept, but I don’t think that this is how God leads his people today. I believe Ephesians 4:11-14 KJV gives the best example of God’s leadership style. That being said, why is it so hard for us to accept inspired leadership in our own time? I think Jesus said it best in Mark 6:4 KJV.

You can also triple-click on a paragraph and the whole thing will be selected with the reply button on the bottom right of it

Using the example of the wedding at Cana where Jesus performed His first miracle. I noticed that Bible Hub didn't offer any cross-references to John's account of the wedding at Cana for comparison, so I'll especially note John's keen awareness of Jesus love in the background of his writing.
We can see how Jesus managed His leadership when His mother told Him they (I'm not sure who the pronoun is referring to specifically, the guests? the servants? all the above?) were out of wine. Did the either wedding guests or the servants go to her with the intention of pulling the 'mother card' with Him? And I wonder if she 'forget herself' when she approached Him, considering his reply to her? The Strong's Lexicon writes it, "Woman, why does this concern us? My hour has not yet come (John 2:4)."

She remembers herself but scripture does not forget that she is His mother in John 2:5, "His mother said to the servants, 'Do whatever He tells you.'" That is, she might've done better to assert herself in this way with regard to (any of) them in the first place.

And here's where the backdrop of the extend of His concern shows up, in my view, at John 2:6 "Now six stone water jars had been set there for the Jewish rites of purification. Each could hold from twenty to thirty gallons."

Jesus used six stone water jars set aside for the rite of purification for use in fulfilling the entertainment of the guest, even as far as allowing the host of the wedding to have the first drink. John 2:7-9
7Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.”
So they filled them to the brim.
8“Now draw some out,” He said, “and take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did so,

But only the servants knew...

This brings us back to the honor of a servant. Mark 6:4
But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

But a servant's exact mission is to serve his household, isn't it? :unsure:
