Colossians 1:17 "He (Lord Jesus) is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

I learned physics as part of my electronics training. It was fairly basic compared to what is known now. However, it was known that an atom was made up of a number of particles. If not for a force called the "Strong nuclear force", atoms would disintegrate. The way this force works is complex and I have not taken the time to get an understanding. However, no one knows exactly why this force exists.

Gravity is even more mysterious. How is it possible for a body 300,000 km away to affect the earth's surface? The moon produces tides. There is no physical contact between the earth and the moon. According to modern science, gravity is not a force, it just appears to act like a force. Gravity is the same throughout the universe. And without gravity, life could not exist on earth.

The idea that Lord Jesus holds the whole universe together is most encouraging. The One who has such power and such love can surely keep us in his keeping power. All He asks of us is that we trust Him.

Amen! There's plenty that science still can't explain, and as we learn new things we learn little bits of how God made and manages existence... The many mysteries left will likely never all be known, but they add a later of awe to God's creation and everything about Him. Praise God! Holding things together indeed...

it could be the sum total of all of God's powers that "hold & keep" the stellar bodies together & in place without any scientific explanation or any other explanation at all. that's my guess.

He created all things, yet he paid for my sins on a cross . . .

Hebrews 3:4
For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

Gravity works as a fundamental attraction between anything with mass or energy.

If the Earth were a flat disk with uniform density, gravity would pull everything towards its geometric center, not straight down everywhere.

On a globe Earth no matter where you stand you have the same amount of mass underneath you so gravity goes down.

Does God hold everything together or did He create the gravity force or does it just work that way naturally.

It would seem like gravity is a created force to happen.

Rev 10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer.

Rev 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Like time is a creation and not a universal principle and the sun is the measuring tool for things are scheduled.

But before creation and when this creation is done away with nothing is scheduled.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Rev 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Like darkness is a creation for it is always light except the created lights but God hid that light from us until the New Jerusalem where it is always light.

I do not believe God holds everything together by the force of His Spirit but gravity is a created force or happens naturally as a result of the objects made.

I believe gravity is a created force and not a universal principle like time and darkness is a creation and not a universal principle.
