I'm not talking romantically , just as a brother or sister of your acquaintance .
I have one , in case u hadn't guessed 🤪 . I was once a passenger in a car with three brothers . Not long after we all got in and set off , one brother said : oh my sister's little white cat got run over today it was awful , he .......at this point , I very politely said : please don't tell me about that , I don't want to hear the details .
Knowing that I was trapped in the car with him and would have to listen to what he said , he carried on and told us all in great detail what had happened . None of the other brothers asked him to stop .
I was distressed and then angry but didn't show any of my feelings . I never felt the same way about any of them . The brother in question later tried to date me and was a bit shocked that I wasn't interested . The brother who was driving , once visited me ( first and only time ) in my home with his wife and all he did was complain that he had to pay a pound to park , when they could have very easily walked to mine from where they had previously parked for free . He went on and on about it for so long I considered giving him the pound . I had been looking forward to their visit and actually felt honoured that they would come to my home , they were much better off than me financially and had been Christians all their lives while I was still a newbie .
I guess we all need to remember that even the best of us r still just human beings . I'm sure I must have offended others in my congregation at some point .

It is ironic though, that one who was initially dismissive of your feelings should think you should be interested in his, isn't it?

This is a problem for me , don't know how others cope . I don't have any trouble forgiving , probably because I've done so many wrong things in my life . The problem I have is that every injury leaves a little scar 😕 they fade in time but they never quite go and sometimes even an old one can itch ! 🥴 Forgetting is the hardest thing , forgetting the pain or sorrow that another person has caused u , forgiveness is usually very easy for me but , our memories ! What do we do about them ? 😣 .

I have heard it taught the same trouble men have with lust, women have with self esteem, also wonder if the adversary brings up the previous offenses? I am of the understanding the adversary is the one who brings up past sin that has been repented of, and we know Jesus remembers them no more.
Another way he distracts from the eternal love Jesus has for us.
I have a couple pictures of our Savior on the wall just ahead of me, and enjoy keeping His Image in the picturew frame in my mind, then there is no room for the enemy.
blessings:)

Jesus exchange with the adulterous woman comes to mind. He guarded her against condemnation but also left her without excuse for it when he said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more."

U know I never thought of that ! The enemy wants me to feel negative about certain things and people because that's not good for me and my relationship with God , so he plays on my self esteem . Thank you , that's very incitful and I will take that on board 👍 .

Dr. Caroline Leaf has at least 4 PHD's in brain science, she poses the statement, "most people don't think about what they think about".
This is a TED Talk of her's from some time ago, I believe it will be a blessing.
Itis now believed 90% of sickness and disease originates in the thought life.
Curry Blake at jglm.org mentions her work positively.

Good has been so good to me as I keep my mind "stayed on Him", and has blessed me with Divine encounters each and every day, to the glory of the Father forevermore.
