What Is Agape Faith?

Agape faith is faith that is fueled by love—a deep, sacrificial, unshakable trust in God that comes from the heart of agape (unconditional) love.

It’s not faith rooted in wanting things from God, but in loving Him so much you’ll follow, believe, and endure—no matter the cost.

✝️ Biblical Foundations:
1. Faith Works Through Love (Agape)

“For in Christ Jesus… what matters is faith working through love (agape).
Galatians 5:6

Paul directly connects true faith to agape love.
In other words: Real faith is powered by divine love.

2. Faith That Endures Because of Love

“Love (agape) bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
1 Corinthians 13:7

Agape love believes even when it doesn’t see. That’s agape faith—faith that doesn’t quit.

3. Faith Like Abraham's, Rooted in Relationship

“Abraham believed God… and it was counted to him as righteousness.” (Romans 4:3)

Abraham’s faith wasn’t transactional—it was relational.
He trusted God because he loved and knew Him. That is the essence of agape faith.

💡 What Agape Faith Looks Like:

  • Believing God’s goodness even when your world falls apart
  • Trusting Him when the promise takes decades
  • Loving Him not for what He gives, but for who He is
  • Following Jesus even through fire, loss, or silence

“Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” —Job 13:15
That’s agape faith—a love-filled trust that cannot be broken.

Well I made the mistake of posting this on reddit, it was not received well.
The issue was that agape faith as a term is not in scripture but surely I am not alone in thinking that agape faith is found all throughout scripture as a concept right?

If love coincides with faith does it matter if the actual term is not found in scripture? is it not evident in all the great faith movers in the word of God?
does agape love not coincide with great faith?

Just look at what Jesus did. Went to that cross willingly without any flesh fight back, Can anyone imagine that, as if it were you going through that? I know I can't, I admit I can't, yet he did once for us all to be forgiven in his shed blood it is done, for us to to endure hardships too. how can one, anyone not be willing to God too? I mean since I have and can still and do still go through troubles too. How can "I" deny God's love given us through Son, to be willing to go through troubles for us all first? Seeing here on earth for up to 120 years first, is worth it, when compared to being given eternity with Father and Son as Won (One) for us to be in full trust, thanks to Son Jesus first.
Seeing what happened in Job first. When Satan accused God in letting Job have a great life here on earth in the first chapter, Said No wonder Job praises you, take away that hedge and I know, he will curse you, deny you, not continue to believe in you Evil lost, the last chapter not yet here, and will be, one day for each that will not deny God all in all.
God gave permission up to so much. I see not more than one, anyone can handle, we all being a Job in this world we are in this world that is not saved.
We, in this world, not of this world

You are right on! Faith and love are functionally synonymous/equivalent,
with the stipulation that our love reflects God's love. IOW, God initiates/loves,
and believers cooperate/reciprocate/reflect.

Love can be substituted by the faith in the Greatest Commandment (Matt. 22:37):
"Believe in the Lord God with all your heart...".

Yes I believe so as well, if love and faith coincide together then that is one thing but to have great faith and great love is another Jesus was a prime example of this agape faith and love

that was great sight you shared, thank you
We are a reflection of God's love, if one sincerely believes God, that will reflect in love to all and not a few as I have seen me do prior to seeing, God's love, unconditionally there to be given it once one, anyone is sincere.
Thank you, as I see to not quit, like as a Job, in the book of Job
