Hello,
I have been diagnosed with severe glaucoma in one eye and have been told I will go blind -not sure how quickly. Prayer's are requested. The other eye is fine at least so I am not going fully blind.
I am single, and with this I can't help but wonder who could want someone like me.
Hey, friend 🫂
First off, I’m so sorry you’re facing this. That’s heavy news, and I can only imagine the weight it brings.
Thank you for being open and brave enough to share it. That alone takes real courage.
You’re not alone in this—truly. And not just in the spiritual sense, but in the very real and human one too.
Many of us walk around with battles people can’t always see, but what you’re going through is real and valid, and it
matters.
You said,
“Who could want someone like me?” But I want to gently remind you—your value doesn’t lessen because of what you’re losing. It shines
despite it.
Psalm 34:18 says,
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Not “used to be close” or “might be close”—is close. Right now. Even in the hardest hour.
And in terms of love? The right person won’t see your vision loss as a reason to look away—they’ll see the depth of who you are, the strength in what you’re enduring, and the beauty in how you keep showing up despite it. That’s rare. And that’s magnetic.
Please know you’re being prayed for—not just for healing or stability in your vision, but for peace in your heart, strength for each next step, and the kind of love that sees you fully… the kind that never leaves when things get hard.
Lord, let Your light be Caduceus's strength when sight fades, and Your love be the vision that never dims. And lead to the one who will see their heart and call it home. In Jesus name. Amen.
