I would like to finish my studies in Japanese, starting over from beginning. This time I would have a goal in mind. Japanese document translator. But...

Is this feasible? English is mandatory subject in Japan in their schools. 30% don't know English, and, but it does say 2% only are fluent? less than 10% can do it it says. Which conflicts with the data about, it being required test to enter college!

Do you think I could get freelance work translating Japanese documents to English? Or maybe even English to Japanese? I would be spending long time learning the language so it's important to me find out if this thing is viable or not. I also would need get a book on, 'English as a second language.'

I learned about cheap AI bots doing translations. I would be in competition with them, and they will only get more advanced as the years go on. My source also said it would take me about 2 years or more to get the language.
