The Saratoga Performing Art Center: Last year, it was announced that for Live Nation shows, starting in 2025, you can not bring your own chair in anymore. You have to rent a chair from the facility. Each chair is $15 to rent. What an uproar this has caused. Talk about "milk em & bilk em'! My greatness! I remember the days in the 70's & 80's in which the facility opened at 11:00 in the a.m. & people brought in their picnic coolers, food & drink, chairs, blankets, frisbees & you made a whole day out of the event. You could walk around with a plastic cup of beer. Then later on, you had to start paying for parking & couldn't bring your own food & drink which forced you to spend more money buying their food & drink. Too, there was a limited space, fenced in, to drink alcohol. Also, later on, the place opened up much later, like about 3 or 4:00 p.m. Now it's to rent a chair. What's it going to be in the future, an entry fee to walk thru the gate? I'm glad I was a concert junkie in the past. My wife & I will attend the Philadelphia Philharmonic shows & maybe that's it!

If I wanted to see the show... And if I didn't have or didn't want to pay the money...

...

...

I'd just stand.

I think I'd also eat a good meal before I went there.

It's their choice what to with the building. It's my choice what I want to spend my money on. If they don't get my money, that's one vote against what they are charging for what they offer. If enough people vote against it they will change it. If enough people vote for it and they make a tidy profit, they will keep doing it.
