It looks like it has never been posted before, either...

Thank you, Karlon, although as with most things I am actually quite limited in my knowledge haha, but it just so happens that what I do know is useful for what I do and it is no coincidence that it worked out that way! Just as it is with you, and if we were to compare what we each knew about antiques, for instance, you would outshine me completely LOL! And even with things to do with music and bands etc, you would probably know much more than I even though music was a big part of my life for quite a few years. And gardening, my goodness, I know so little about that heehee. My daughter is still getting settled into her new house and has taken to trying to whip their back yard into shape which has her uprooting things and trying to dig holes to plant tress etc. It all sounds so exhausting lol but the results are wonderful!
thank you! i'm guessing you taught yourself everything about computers. it certainly seems so. i was out yesterday searching for antiques. it wasn't a productive outing. just a few interesting things i found. it's like a lion's attempt to kill for food. they are only successful 1 in 15 trys. a phunnneee event occurred yesterday. i was at a sale & the sun, finally, appeared shining to earth. it's been cloudy & rainy for 7 days. so i said, loudly, "what's the bright light up in the sky"? i looked with wonderment. & people were fooled. then finally, someone said, " i know what he means, the sun is out". lot's of people laughed. so, with the day being sunny, my wife said, "take me out to dinner". finally, after a long dismal winter, we'e out enjoying God's gracious weather. only our 2nd outing so fart. every weekend was either rainy, cold or cloudy or a combination of all 3. we've been out only locally i mean, but not Saratoga. now it's off to grocery shopping Magenta then more Sunday fun in the sun. i wish you a summery sunny scintillating day today!

I designed this one this week, as well.

I heard this song for the first time this morning, as I was adding the finishing touches :)
Your art has a very own and special energy to it. I have to admit that I don't understand a lot of it. Who is the Woman with the trumpet? I read a lot of those verses, some of them are quite good. Also I started reading about the Sermon on the Mount yesterday. What is your option about it?

Thank you! The woman with a trumpet represents an angel, can you see her wings? Heh, I know people sometimes take exception to depictions of angels as female, but I am much more comfortable working with female figures than male. Anyways, I do have quite a few panels with male figures, and my "art" is continuing to expand and grow and so more males are being employed as of late, and my style has also changed a lot from the beginning years to now. The figure is blowing a trumpet which Biblically signifies a few things, among which are a call to assembly; signal of war or alarm; proclamation of freedom or Jubilee; call to repentance and remembrance; end-times events; Divine intervention or judgment; and announcing the Messiah. I got that list from a general search just now. I will have to read the sermon on the mount to refresh my memory about it. Was there something in particular that struck you about it? PS ~ I am close to 2 years behind getting my panels into this thread, but I do continue to post them in threads where the verses are relevant to the discussions, and also many of the thread topics inspire quite a few of the panels themselves...

Actually, when talking and thinking about religion, I tend to be more open towards women, because they're usually more open-minded and sensitive. That helps me a lot. So I guess picturing an angel as female is helpful. I saw that angel in another panel of yours, and I like her energy and posture. Strong and full of willpower. It reminds me of a mother, or a Valkyrie, if you allow me the comparison.

About the Sermon at the Mount. I like the Beatitudes because Jesus makes new conclusions from the Old Testament. He develops the old thesis. It shows, to me, that Christianity does not have to be static and that love is the groundwork of his teachings. I am sorry, if my English isn't that well.

Your English is quite fine! No worries there. I am glad you like my female angels. Not everyone does, but I have to follow my own inclinations even if there seems to be no rhyme or reason, though often there is, and also in the beginning stages of my designs, like when I first started doing this, because I am collaging, I was collecting the ephemera or elements/individual bits to work into the design, things like flowers and clouds and stars and special effects, frames and borders and backgrounds and dresses and facial features and body parts (some of my designs used a dress that I had to add the body parts to LOL) and at first I had fairly few to choose from, and would spend hours at a time looking for more, along the lines of things I thought I might make use of, in my style as it were, for it is unbelievable the amount of images out there, and sites that offer these things free for personal use... and I have continued to do this collecting over the years, but my collections have grown substantially also so I do not normally have to spend so much time doing just that. Also artificial intelligence has added an incredible amount to what is available also, just over the last two or three years, and this has been a real boon to me. This panel is from Matthew, displaying some of the beatitudes, using Marilyn Monroe's face worked onto a dress that I had to add arms to etc... and of course the pink hair is one of my additions also LOL. Plus, Mary Magdalene was the first person Jesus sent to tell of His resurrection!

Thank you for your nice words again. I can see, that there is lot of effort behind your panels and I really like the verses in that one. I already thought, that there might be more behind them as it seems first. I like the symbology of your work and I hope that I can understand it better soon. Keep on the good work please and don't hesitate to make more female angels. I think the world needs them more than ever.

Thank you so much! There is a lot of attention to detail that nobody would know about unless I were to tell them, but even so sometimes when I look at older ones I see where I was sloppy or not as careful as I could have been with some blending or erasing, as I am working in Photoshop, and make many edits to each little bit as it is added, so also over the years my proficiency with the tools I am using has improved, as well as my methodology, since when I first started I was pretty much winging it haha, having never really done anything like it before, though I do work in the photofinishing industry, and learned remedial skills in Photoshop there, but my job is largely doing other things, mostly colour correcting and printing, and now also scanning films and slides, and I no longer use photoshop at work (except in my free time when it is not busy and I am allowed to do as I will), as all that sort of thing is done by others. My use of things like doves and grapes is elemental symbolism, the dove being symbolic of the Holy Spirit of God, and grapes being made to make wine, which symbolizes the shed righteous blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. The reason why I am so inclined to use female figures is also because I found the verses on a panel spoke much more personally to me when there was a woman present as if she were saying the words of the verses given, and of course the Scripture is the reason for it all in the first place! Speaking of work I must get ready to go there, as today is a work day for me and it is getting busy with the end of the school year upon us. Thank you once again for your interest in my work, for they are labours of love for me. I look forward to speaking some more with you soon!

Wow I din't know about the symbology of doves and grapes. Beside my recent interest in Christian faith, I have always been interested in symbolism, as it combines art, deep knowledge (no matter of what) and intelligence. Thank you for that information. I hope you had a nice day at work. Due to time zone difference, I just finished my day of work when you wrote that. I hope I will find some time this weekend to study some of the things you recommended.

Good morning, Erde, I hope you do find time to start watching the Alpha videos, as they are chock full of information on our faith that will hopefully help you grow in understanding, and it is also available in the German language ( https://shop.alpha.org/contexts/languages ). The Bible is written in many literary styles including narratives, poetry, wisdom literature, prophecy, gospels, epistles, and apocalyptic literature. Other literary devices include metaphors, similes, personification, typologies (the relationship between Old Testament events, people, or institutions and their fulfillment in the New Testament, particularly in relation to Jesus Christ and His redemptive work), foreshadowing, etc., all which add depth and imagery to the text to convey deeper meanings and concepts. They are often used to describe God's nature, God's relationship with humanity, and spiritual truths.

John the Baptist was sent specifically to tell of Jesus' coming, and he was informed by God that he would recognize the Messiah when he saw the Holy Spirit descend like a dove and rest on Him. John the Baptist himself testified to witnessing this event as he was baptizing Jesus, confirming Jesus' identity as the Son of God and the Lamb of God, according to the Gospel of John. Jesus uses a lot of agricultural metaphors in His parables, which have also been employed throughout the Old Testament, for instance, Israel is a vineyard, God is planting seeds, the Seed is His Word, Jesus is the Living Word of God, the true vine, out of Whom we grow in faith to bear fruit. Jesus is referred to as a number of things, such as the Living Word of God, the bread of life, the light of the world, the gate, a door, the good shepherd... and we are known as the sheep of His pasture, those whose hearts have been worked upon by God so the seed of His revealed written Word can take root and grow into faith. He is the good shepherd and we are His sheep, which is why you will see sheep and little lambs in some of my panels.

Thank you for your well wishes! You have entered onto a steep learning curve which in my own life was a great adventure. There is a lot to learn but the most important thing is to know that God loves His creation and desires all to come to a knowledge of the Truth, which Jesus embodies and personifies. There are many verses telling us not to worry... I mention them because I hope you do not feel overwhelmed by the enormity and/or complexity of it all. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and augment your studies with prayers for understanding and insight and you will continue to move forward. Have you been attending any church?

Hello again, Magenta. And again thank you for your nice and supportive words. I do feel indeed a little overwhelmed, but thats okay. This is all very new, since I am not even baptized and never really attended any church (i sometimes visited churches for cultural and architectural interests tho). I feel very exhausted these days from my work and volunteer work and i still looking for some quite time to dig in the many recommendations and all. I don't just want to read/listen to it, I want do understand it. Please be patient :)

By all means please move at your own pace, Erde! I was just explaining a few things about the symbolism in my panels and why it's there relative to what is in the Bible... my own process took many many years, so believe me I am not expecting you to get it all at once! I realize you are on a steep learning curve and also other things you learn along the way will likely be used by God to help you help others as you move forward in your own faith, when that takes root and begins to grow... no pressure!!! Also just to mention that baptism normally follows after you come to believe or realize that you have placed your faith in the work that Jesus Christ accomplished through His life, death, and resurrection: the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
