Howdy and welcome to the forum.

No, your thread did not disappear. New threads are held for moderator approval. And we only have one moderator and he don't get paid, so he does it in his spare time. So here's your new thread! :D

What do you want to talk about?

I can talk about chocolate or food for hours. I can talk about computers for hours and hours. I can talk about music for weeks. I recommend not getting me started talking about music. :geek:

Oh I'm music mad ! I'm a bit older than u so maybe we won't like the same stuff . My faves r mostly English but I do like plenty of American and even a bit of European stuff . I ( husband and I ) have about 1000 cd's . Not much fun to dust but they r worth it 🤪 . If u r feeling really brave , u can list all your faves , or your entire collection , alphabetically 😲 I will do the same but , not all in one go 😆 . R u up for the challenge ?

When I get home I can take a few screenshots of my music files. I have cds, but I ripped them all to computer and curated them.

I found a way around dealing with how different music players handle music tags differently. I just label the files. First by group, then by album, then by track number, then by track title. So the first track from gateway college choir's album "atmosphere of praise" would be, "gateway atmosphere 01 shake the foundation." No matter what program I chunk my music collection into, it sorts itself out by group, then by album, then by track list.

That sounds awesome , I have no idea what it all means but it sounds great 😁 I'm not really into tech so I'll stick with cd's . I'm a simple soul 🤪 . I don't have much religious music except for the soundtracks to Jesus Christ Superstar and Fiddler on the Roof and some classical choral cd's. I do love traditional English hymns , the kind of things we sang at school a million years ago , I would love a cd with those on but I can't find 😞 . For a couple of years now my elderly cat has not been able to tolerate music so I've been listening on to my portable CD player through headphones . He's an awesome cat so I'm prepared to make the sacrifice 😻 .

From my music collection I can suggest:

You might like the gold City quartet.

You might like the cathedrals.

You might like the Happy goodmans.

On the other hand... If you have never heard it before, there's a chance you might like something more modern.

Hmph. The forum says my picture is too big to post. Hmph, I say!

I had to make a screenshot video of me scrolling through my collection and post it to youtube. So here's my collection. Paul's it at any time to read the names.

It would have been so much more convenient to just post a picture... You could have seen all the groups at one time in a picture.

Oh... You said old hymns, so I was aiming low. I'll shift to a higher gear.

I may have seen the giants, or maybe not. I have built my collection by visiting thrift stores, pawn shops, used book stores, and buying everything Christian there that I have never heard before. At those prices if I like one out of 10 I come out way ahead. The ones I don't like, I dump on the local thrift store and I never, ever, ever go there looking for music.

If you can tell me your favorite song by the giants, I'll look it up on youtube.

I'll see you in my dreams 😜 that's a Giant song . White Heart r supposed to b quite good also . Those shops that r called thrift shops in the U.S.A. r called second hand shops or charity shops in the U.K. I'm a regular visitor to them . Had some awesome bargains , drinking glasses that r about 200 years old , silver rings with real gemstones and ornamental cats . Don't usually buy clothes as I don't buy clothes very often , only when I actually need to . There is often some really nice furniture in the second hand shops but I live in a small apartment and it's already full of.....cd's , DVD's , antique drinking glasses and ceramic cat ornaments 😵 .

White heart is in my collection, but you have to watch almost the entire video to see it because it starts with w... They are pretty good.
