Me too. Are there instances where a novice geek can overcome these things?

Not sure what you mean? When a site crashes there is nothing we can do to help it. We wait for it to come back online.

i got the blue screen of life yesterday on my laptop!

only for a few seconds, then a restart, then all was well.

turns out, the laptop was starting to overheat, so i made sure that did not happen again, but it is a sinking feeling when it happens!
At one time that was the Windows blue screen of death. My how times change. lol Though I think a smiley face back in the day would have taken the,oh I'm screwed, edge off just a bit.:D

There's nothing more "fatal" than the windows blue screen of life.
With the new versions of windows 10 and 11, they even gave it a sad face because the programers are millenials.

Aww the sad face is so cute, it makes you forget that the computer crashed and you feel 'cozy' about it.
I see your propaganda, trying to change it to blue screen of life. Retcon won't work. It's the blue screen of death, because your kernel just died.

Think your right to question, as that may be something suited to a webmaster's expertise. Myself, a complete loss. :)

When the site crashes we are all in the same boat set adrift wondering what happened... .:giggle:

Pfft!

In this analogy I would have many different boats. The WhatsApp boat is still riding high.

The Skype boat has a hole in the side though, and is going down fast...

My mind wonders what this whatsapp is you speak of. Anyway, you talk about things
outside this site, whereas I was not in any way referring to anything outside this site.
The plain and simple truth is that this site crashes and we may be given a message saying
something about cloudfare but we still don't know what exactly happened.

I spent some ten years once on a Christian website that went through a handful of notices for site upgrades / corrections with plenty of advance memos for the community that would rival CC size, just to be ready. Then, one day those of us who were left (strange depletion) had no such ''fatal error'' notice and all was gone, the multi-denominational interaction into the tens of thousands of posts, vanished and scrubbed from any viewing whatsoever. I suppose the moral of that one is, if you find someone who is a pleasure to abide with here, make an effort to retrieve contacts.
