I want to focus on one aspect of the so-called "Lord's Prayer". Why did Jesus instruct us to pray "Your Kingdom come, your will be done..."? Surely God's kingdom will come and God's will is going to be done anyway? If we fail to understand why Lord Jesus commanded this, we will miss a vital aspect of the relationship between God and His people.

God created Adam in His image and likeness. God gave Adam and Eve authority over all the earth and all of God's creation. That includes Satan, who had been evicted from heaven.

Adam gave that God-given authority to Satan and so became Satan's puppet (1 John 5:19). However, God never took back Adam's authority. So man is still responsible for managing God's creation.

Now I will step into controversial territory. God requires the cooperation of a man before He will do His work on earth. Unless God can find a man that will obey, God will do nothing. God can do as He pleases. But it pleases God to respect mankind. This is why God required a Noah before He sent the flood. It is why He required an Abraham before He commenced His plan to crush Satan's head through the seed of the woman.

We see through Bible history men and women of God who cooperated with God in this way. In the Lord's prayer, Lord Jesus reaffirmed that God's way has not changed. We should discover God's will and pray accordingly. We know that God will hear and answer such prayer.

If God's people become passive and complacent, God will wait for someone to become dissatisfied, humble themselves, repent and pray. If this does not happen, God will bypass that congregation, and even the nation. Anyone know where Laodicea is now? How about Pergamum or Ephesus? Those churches were rebuked and exhorted to repent. Their ruins are located in what is now Turkey.

If you are putting your hope in a mere man to make your nation great, think again. Many can quote 2 Chronicles 7:14. Not nearly so many are following God's instruction. How do I know? "Christian" nations are not healed. Europe is under the heel of Islam, not that they will admit it. America is on a knife edge. Australia has a limited spiritual heritage but even that is fading away. And it shows.

God will do nothing until His people pray. And He will do little unless and until there is unity (psalm 133). This does not mean we have to agree on every doctrinal point. That is just as well because we would be waiting forever. But we can agree on the essentials and agree to disagree on the rest.

Yes, God wants to work through people. But He can also work by Himself.

Isaiah 59:16 NKJV "He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him."

Matthew 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from the evil

I would like to focus on verse 13 as I see this as a Tribulation prayer at the end of the age.

Lord doesn't lead anyone into temptation and my understanding is a trial or testing a.k.a. Tribulation

but deliver us from evil or evil one a.k.a. antichrist

Re "God will do nothing until His people pray.": You could cite Jesus not doing miracles in Nazareth regarding this point. (LK 4:23-27)

Re "And He will do little unless and until there is unity (psalm 133).": Jesus prayed for unity so that the world would believe he is Messiah. (JN 17:20-23)

Re "This does not mean we have to agree on every doctrinal point. That is just as well because we would be waiting forever. But we can agree on the essentials and agree to disagree on the rest.": Amen! We need to agree about the essential Gospel creed or God's requirement for salvation, which is the theme of the Kerygma thread.

That salvation was through Man, the Lord Jesus. He did not come to the earth to be God, but to be man. He is the Last Adam, the Second Man. ( 1Corinthians 15:45. Read verse 46 also.)

Even in the terrible period before Jesus came and there was no word from God, about 400 years, there were some who sought for the Messiah to come. Simeon was one such believer as we see in Luke 2. It's worth reading the whole chapter.

thanks the Lord is my savior, I can only speak for me and tell others that God just loves us all, not ever getting tired of saying this, and is usually revealed in and through me to the crowd at hand, Wherever I go. Actions, reactions speak louder than words.
Saying this also, it is not me that does any good.
Rather it is God through me and anyone else in belief too gets it, as hardly any words can reveal this truth. Yet, when it happens to the next person, Woe is them as I am still woe to me
Thanks
Entering God's courts with Thanksgiving and praise, seeing by Son for us all he in his one time willing death took away all sin for us to now be Able to approach the throne of Grace given us to learn new in and become mature in loving everyone, whether another believes God or not being given eternal life in our souls, not in our flesh we are in presently. thanks
Seeing The truth I see only comes from God Father the Holy Spirit sent too us to see new and share love to all, God's type of Love as in 1 Cor 13:4-7

Romans chapter 12 v 19 and Hebrews chapter 10 v 30 . These are just the new testament references which state that vengeance belongs to God , it's not for us humans to take vengeance on each other . Don't mix up justice and vengeance . There r lots of old testament references about God taking vengeance and humans r not supposed to . What has this to do with the Lord's prayer ? Well verse 12 of your quote says that we should forgive our debtors / those who trespass against us etc and then verse 13 talks about us being not lead into temptation , temptation to do what ? Take it in context . Temptation to not forgive and to take vengeance on someone who we think has wronged us instead of forgiving them . U quoted the Lord's prayer from Matthew chapter 6 , what does Jesus say right after the prayer ? In verses 14+15 Jesus , straight after teaching his disciples how to pray , immediately he's talking about forgiveness . Not just talking but giving a very clear warning in verse 15 , if ye forgive not men their trespasses , neither will your Father forgive your trespasses .

God, Lord Jesus Christ will save you before you pray for it. Sometimes you are setup for being saved in advance, even many years before it happens. For example, something you see as a handicap, a curse. It could actually be something that will save you, for whatever reason.

Sometimes things happen in a flash, in just a moment. Do you have time to sit down and write a poem to God. But, God does save us. Keep in mind Jesus said it's not going to be perfect life. There is going to be offences.

Therefore, seeing. as I see Paul sees
I put behind me, what is behind me and continue going forward in the present given me, God for me for me and all to see God loves us all y'all that is truth that cannot ever be taken away, a gift for us to beget from God to us to stand in as in Col 1 and 2 tells me of. also 1 Cor 15

Jesus is risen where new life is given for us to be new in Father's Spirit and Truth the Holy Spirit leading, we, at least me, in agreement and see after kicking out any dictator first by God's done work for us first, at least me and sincerely love all, tell truth in Dad's way of love for us all, that overcame this world for us first, in risen Son as proof.
The people that state you must, you better or else attitudes of the first born flesh, that can never please God see that in Romans 8
Time to trust God and be born new by God in lover to all y'all thank you
