Personal Testimonial by Craig Olsen

I am proof that life doesn’t always go the way we expect, but that doesn’t mean we stop fighting. I’ve walked through some of the hardest battles—battles with addiction, struggles with my own self-worth, and challenges that nearly broke me. But I refused to let them define me.

There were times when I wasn’t sure if I would ever break free from the weight of my past, but I did. I chose to stand back up, to take control of my life, to push through the doubts and the struggles. It hasn’t been easy. Change never is. But every step forward, no matter how small, mattered.

My family is my greatest motivation. My kids are the reason I get up every day and keep going. Spending time with my father and sister reminds me of what’s truly important. Life is about more than just surviving—it’s about being present, making memories, and never taking the time we have for granted.

I’ve fought my battles, and I know there will always be challenges ahead. But I am stronger now. I am more than my past, more than my mistakes, and more than the struggles I’ve faced. I am still here, still standing, and still fighting for the life I want to build.

If my journey shows anything, it’s that change is possible. Healing is possible. Becoming the person you were meant to be is possible. I’m not done yet. I have more to do, more to give, and more life to live.

This is my story. And I’m still writing it.

Is God a part of your story?
"My faith in God is only just beginning, and my testimony is still being written. As I learn and grow in my faith, I can feel His presence—like a gentle warmth or a soft prickling on my skin, reminding me that He is near. Everything is new to me, but as I reflect on where I once was and where I am now, the doubt that once clouded my heart is giving way to belief. I am in the earliest stages of this journey, yet I already feel His love and protection surrounding me. That love has given me the strength to speak out, to share, and to embrace this path with an open heart."

How are you pursuing God?
I’m starting my pursuit of God by taking small but intentional steps. I’m beginning with the Gospel of John, reading a little each day to understand who Jesus is and what faith really means. Prayer is something I’m learning to do, even if it’s just simple, honest conversations with God—asking Him to guide me, to show me He’s there. I’m also seeking wisdom from others, whether through sermons, books, or just talking with people who have walked this path before me. As I go, I’m learning to trust God in the little things, looking for His presence in my daily life. I know this journey isn’t about being perfect, but about growing, healing, and letting go of my past. I also want to find community, people who are on the same journey, because I know faith isn’t meant to be walked alone. I don’t have it all figured out, but I’m taking it one step at a time, knowing that God is already working in my life.

I appreciate your interest in my faith journey! I’m taking things one step at a time, letting it grow naturally and meaningfully. I believe faith is best built with patience and reflection, so I’m just focusing on learning and understanding right now. I’m always open to wisdom and guidance,
