Excuse me for my mistakes. This is my first time here.
I recently separated from my BEST friend (for over 20 years). Nothing "gay " here. We are both christians. But he is now suffering from Diabetes, Dementia....and recently had a stroke. we shared a two bedroom mobile home. But now he's going into a nursing home. So I have to find low income housing, My retirements leave me on the level of low income. And I find it kind of scary......now being on my own. I know....now....that I have to move closer to God again. I moved away from him (God) because my room-mate needed close monitoring. Now that he's going into a nursing home, I'm on my own. And I find it scary. I find myself having panic attacks. I DO have an older sister, who calls me once in a while, for support. I need someone I can talk to about this.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I am not sure what advice to give you at the moment, but I am praying for God to grant you wisdom and help. I am here if you need someone to talk to and to pray for you.

Your introduction brings to mind the friendship of David and Jonathan. Two men of the Kingdom of Israel, whose love for one another, surpassed that of even a woman.

In devoting your time to care for a friend with ailing health, you have been a friend who abides closer than a brother.

Jesus was speaking of men like you, when He said this:

Matthew 25:37
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?

Matthew 25:40
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.

You're within an ace of God's presence, and He is greater than our thoughts and feelings, doubts and fears.

I will pray for you and your friend.

Hi, Gary!

It sounds like you're going through a lot right now, but I know that God is with you throughout it all. Just seek him, and put your trust in him and his plan for your life.

I'm a new Christian, and there has been so much support and advice that people have given me on this site. if you need any help with growing closer again to God, I know that there are many lovely people on here that would be more than happy to give you the same support that they have given me!

If you just need someone to talk to about it to, we're all here for you. You're not alone in this.

It can be difficult to go from living with someone, especially a best friend, to living on your own. Is it possible that you live near him, so you can visit him? I am sure he is going to feel lonely and miss you too.

Living on your own in your own space can be scary but you can do it. Panic attacks are driven by often unrealistic/extreme thoughts. What thoughts are you having? Loneliness is an ache in which God is reminding you that you need to do something about it, either seek Him more or others. You will still miss your friend, but you can get to know more people.

I pray you and your friend will find an ideal place and provisions for your challenges.

Sometimes dementia can be reversed.
It all depends....

Active steps should be taken by someone who is his power of medical attorney to see to his recovery before further decline.
The visits this week are reminders of the need for nutritional support for all, especially those who have such health challenges. I decided now to post a new thread in the Health Forum for everyone's edification.

I have tried to contact him but he hasn't come online maybe he needs to figure some stuff out or something but he does need help

Hi garystan52, welcome to the fellowship here at CC and wonderful the Lord led you here! To combat panic attacks, get familiar with God's promises. One I've become very fond of is 'casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]' 1 Pet 5:7. It is hard to grasp but God does know best. 'But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus' Phil 4:19, ask Him to open the door for the perfect place to reside and then cast the care to Him and He will bless you, you must trust Him.
