Hey, everyone! New here.. and though this is out of my comfort zone, sometimes a girl just needs to spend time chatting with fellow Believers. I will admit that usually I avoid ppl most of the time, except my family members. Many of my experiences in life have taught me that guarding one's heart, privacy, and life shows wisdom. Live and learn, right?! However, l still enjoy getting to know ppl and having someone outside of my family to talk to and share things with. Maybe I'll even make some new friends here 😊

Welcome, Cindy.

I hear you on the guard your heart part. That said, isolation is not the overall answer. At times, sure, but certainly not always.

People are tricky.

On the one hand, we are called to seek to save the lost, and that calling comes with a lot of opposition.

On the other hand, we are called to fellowship together as members of the same body, and we do not want to miss out on that because every part has something to contribute for the benefit of the whole.

Then again, there are a lot of wolves in sheep's clothing, so there is that.

Anyhow, there are some good people here, and I hope that the Lord leads you to them.

God bless you.

1 Thessalonians 5
23 May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body
be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

"Guarding the heart" surely being of great significance on any Christian site
as there are untold perceptions surrounding a relationship with God.

Guarding one's heart is fine but unless you allow yourself to become vulnerable to some extent others will not have a full chance to really get to know who you are and what you are about.

Chatting with fellow believers is what happens here. I'm sure that you will have ample opportunity to make new friends here. Hope that this site is as much of a blessing as it has been for me.

You are so right about 'live and learn'.

Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Hello Cindy, I am here because I recognize the name "Moss" from Chugach, Alaska, and the church, Peters Creek Christian Center where they had Pastor Moss. I knew his son, Benny Moss who is a VERY talented drummer. The man can PLAY! I met them back in 2002 at an event called "Northern Blaze" where they brought in Evangelist Pat Schatsline. We were expecting only a couple hundred kids and it turned out to be over 1200 youth showed up packing the church out! God began a revival in the valley of Alaska! Get this, they were allowed into the public schools and many teens got saved out of that at school! I met Benny Moss when he and Adam Sadler formed their Metal Christian band called "Faceless". They were so good at the time that they got to open for Skillet and John Cooper said after watching them, "These guys are GOOD!". That was at a concert in Kenai, Alaska. The Moss family there is SO well loved. The band Faceless got approached by someone in "The Industry" and offered a record deal IF they would tour the lower 48 states and survive a year on the road. Sadly that did not pan out well for the band and they returned to Alaska except one of them. Bands break up all the time.
Anyhow I could relate with you in sometimes I would isolate. I am married to a wonderful daughter of Zion and she prays like ALOT! We are always seeking to be a blessing to others in whatever ways we can in the Lord. Me, somewhat like you do, I tend to isolate but for a very different reason. I am a U.S. Army Combat veteran and sometimes life in general can become a bit much to handle at times though life is good. The Lord keeps me through those times though. One of the ways in which the Holy Spirit keeps me active is reaching out beyond my "comfort zone." I know my darling wifey is always pushing me to get out of my shell. So here I am doing just that. God bless you. The name Moss reminded me of rather good times in Alaska where I got to see God move in a very mighty way among THOUSANDS of young people back in 2002. I will end with a testimony from that very event. OK I was there as a part of the adult leadership of another church. Seward Chapel Church from, the Seaside town of Seward, Alaska nestled in the Kenai Fjords off the Alaskan Gulf Coast. We got invited to attend as a group. So we traveled the 4 hours to Chugach, Alaska, Peters Creek, to go stay at Peters Creek Christian Center. That is just North of Wasilla, Alaska. The event started with a few hundred students and us adults. At one point in the PM services over that weekend, over 1200 teens flooded the sanctuary and attended the event. I will NEVER forget what happened when a young woman walked through the front doors to the sanctuary and what she wore got our attention. She was dressed in VERY GOTHIC clothing. Had the black fingernails. The black lipstick was on, and the hair dew was to match. She had on what looked like a spiked collar around her neck and wristbands made of black leather. She walked slowly down the front and stops in front of everyone and grabs her collar and wristbands and rips them off of herself. She screams, "I don't want this anymore!!!" and throws them down on the floor and runs completely OUT of the building! Their youth pastor and his wife looked at the lady leaders and said; "Ladies go get her NOW!". We stopped the service and started praying HEAVILY! Intercessors entered the room and started praying. Soon, one of our ladies yells, "I found her!" and walked her back down to the front. We all got around her and we saw her get saved, born again, and delivered." That was SO powerful!!! It was, ya know, The REAL DEAL! God bless you Cindy
