Those who go to heaven do and will increasingly live for God, but living for God is not the cause of their eternal reward.

The living for God is the result of a changed heart and mind which begins at conversion, and the ongoing work of God in an individual...Philippians 2:13.

What does Scripture say on the subject? Does it mention "live for God" anywhere, or are you just echoing some Christianese phrase you heard somewhere?

Believe God, receive from God and be new in love to all, given you by God
This is not of work(s) not any self work, since no other flesh but Son's flesh could ever please God
I see Romans 8:1-3
All sin by Son, in his one time death. Reconciliation occurred as forgiven 100% forever from Father, through Son
Leaving, left all Sin condemned to flesh
Therefore, if I am working to get in or stay in, "I" then am in the way of the new life offered me to be in Spirit and Truth, free of any charge ever to be in. I do not have to work to get in or stay in, anyone else?
I chose to do as led to do from my Father in risen Son Jesus for me to be at rest in this worlds mess, and simply love all as Father loves all, proven in Son going willingly to that cross first
This is a gift to appreciate, not facilitate any of my own or anyone else's ideas over it
You better or else attitudes of flesh that will not ever please Father, thank you
Beleive God, receive and see new, thank you

Must one live for God to go to heaven?
The answer to that question is nuanced:

No one achieves moral perfection in this life, but no one who lacks divine love will reap eternal life with God (GL 6:7-8).
Thus, a person who claims to be godly but who is behaving in an ungodly (unloving, untruthful) manner may be in one of the following categories:

a. a normally loving person observed during a rare moment when he/she acted uncharacteristically (PHP 3:12-16),

b. an immature Believer, who is making progress–you should have known him/her a year ago! (1CR 3:1-3, EPH 4:11-15)

c. a truthseeker who has not yet learned the correct interpretation of God’s Word (1CR 6:9-11, EPH 5:8-9), or

d. a pseudo-Christian (MT 7:21), who may affirm morality while rejecting its divine rationale.

The last type will go to hell unless they repent.

Live according to the spirit and you will live. Live according to the flesh and you will die

Matthew 7:13 plus Romans 8:13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live

Must one live for God to go to heaven?
If you are given that opportunity to do so, otherwise, it is not a ''must''. Jesus told a man ''one thing you lack'', live for God. Another, ''this day'' you'll be in heaven without lifting a finger.

Must one live for God to go to heaven?
According to the Bible, the question of whether one must live for God to go to heaven is central to understanding salvation. The Bible teaches that faith in Jesus Christ is the essential requirement for salvation, but how one lives also reflects the authenticity of that faith.

In John 14:6, Jesus Himself says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." This clearly indicates that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven.
However, the Bible also teaches that those who are saved will live lives that reflect God's will. In Matthew 7:21, Jesus says, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." This shows that merely professing faith is not enough; the evidence of true faith is a life lived in obedience to God's will. Similarly, James 2:17 states, "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." This means that genuine faith will naturally result in a life that honors God through good works and obedience.

Repentance is also crucial in the process of salvation. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." Repentance signifies a turning away from sin and a desire to live in accordance with God's ways. In Romans 6:4, we are reminded, "Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." A life transformed by Christ should reflect a new way of living that is dedicated to God.

While faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation for salvation and access to heaven, the Bible also teaches that genuine faith will naturally result in a life that is lived for God, through good deeds, repentance, and obedience to His will. Salvation is a gift from God, granted by His grace, but it is evidenced in the way one lives. Faith and works go hand in hand, with faith being the root and good works the fruit of a transformed life.

Peace

Can one achieve it ??????????? That is the Question ???????????

How do I live my life for God?

https://www.gotquestions.org/live-life-for-God.html

God has given us some very clear instructions in His Word as to how we are to live for Him. These include the command to love one another (John 13:34-35), the call to follow Him at the cost of denying our own desires (Matthew 16:24), the exhortation to care for the poor and needy (James 1:27), and the warning to not fall into sinful behaviors like those who don’t know God (1 Thessalonians 5:6-8). Jesus summed up a life lived for God when a teacher of the law asked Him the most important of commandments. Jesus replied, “Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:29-31).

Jesus’ prayer prior to His crucifixion also sheds light on our purpose. Referring to believers, He prayed, “I have given them the glory you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them” (John 17:22-26). Jesus’ desire is for relationship with us.

The Westminster Shorter Catechism says, “Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.” A life lived for God glorifies God. We pursue God with our entire being – heart, soul, mind, and strength. We abide in Christ (John 15:4, 8) and therefore act like Him by loving others. In doing that, we bring glory to His name and also enjoy the relationship for which we were originally created.

Those who wish to live for God must seek Him in His Word. We must seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to apply the Word to our lives. Living for God means giving up ourselves and desiring God’s will above all else. As we draw nearer to God and come to know Him more, His desires will more naturally become ours. As we mature, our desire to obey God’s commands increases as our love for Him increases. As Jesus said, “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15)

op: "live for God to go to heaven?" Bible Answer?:
...No, believe/trust/have faith In The Gospel Of The GRACE Of God "to go to heaven!"

Then "live for God" to "get rewards" When you get there (1 Corinthians 3:8-15 AV)...
The Biblical Answer above = NO = still remains...

...Biblically Confirmed By additional info About Judgment for those "believers
Going To Heaven" [ Because Of
The FINISHED [ Repeat: FINISHED ] Work Of Christ
On The DEADly CROSS!!!
], who "do Not live for God":

What Saith The PURE, HOLY, And Infallible Scriptures?:

"Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall
receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers
together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
According To The GRACE Of God Which Is Given Unto me, as a wise masterbuilder,
I have laid The Foundation, and another buildeth Thereon. But let EVERY man
Take Heed how he buildeth Thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay
than That is laid, Which Is Jesus Christ.
Now if any man build upon This Foundation
gold, silver, precious stones, [ living for God ]
wood, hay, stubble; [ NOT living for God ]
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for The Day Shall Declare it, because it
Shall Be Revealed By fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
If any man’s work abide which he hath built Thereupon, he Shall Receive a reward.
If any man’s work shall be burned, he Shall Suffer LOSS [ Of rewards! ]:
but he himself Shall Be Saved; yet so as by fire." (1 Corinthians 3:8-15 AV)

Conclusion: belief/Eternal Relationship With God And works/living in fellowship With God
Are Totally And UNmistakably TWO Different Sound Doctrines Of God Almighty!! eh?

The key here is the foundation of Jesus Christ as lord. If someone builds on a foundation of Jesus Christ as BFF who doesn't require obedience to his voice, then it will be swept away

And why do you call me lord, lord, and do not do what I say? Everyone coming to me and hearing my words, and doing them, I will show you to whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug and deepened, and laid a foundation on the rock. And a flood having occurred, the stream burst against that house and could not shake it, for it had been founded on the rock. But the one hearing and not doing is like a man having built his house on the earth without a foundation, on which the stream burst, and it immediately fell; and the ruin of that house was great. Luke 6:46-49

From Matthew 7:24-27 Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because its foundation was on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the torrents raged, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its collapse!

Must one live for God to go to heaven?
Everyone is born dead in trespass and sin. When you are born again, you are made alive once more. The first judgement God makes is "are you alive or dead?" You would not allow a dead person to stay in your home and neither will God.

The next judgement is for rewards. The wicked will suffer according to what they have done in this life. The righteous will be rewarded according to what they have done also. Those who are born again are already righteous in God's sight, not of themselves, but imputed righteousness because of what Christ has done for us. We will be judged, but not as sinners. It is more like a prize giving ceremony. Some will receive very little or perhaps nothing. Others will be greatly rewarded.

God judges not according to what we gain but what we lose. Those who choose to hang onto their old life, the life they receive from Adam, will suffer much loss in the next life - our real life. Those who turn away from the old life and allow Jesus to live in place of it will gain much in the next life.

This is not the same as forsaking sin. It is forsaking self will, our "rights", our selfish ambitions and self preservation. This is a lifetime work of the cross, as death to self allows the life of Christ to take over. It is all according to the choices we make.
