Greetings,

My name is Brad. I'm 44 years old from the United States. I am Christian in spirit, soul, and body. I am a United States Air Force Veteran who served in the Middle East shortly after the events of 9/11. I am married to my wife of 24 years this July. I am a father to a daughter, and a grandfather to one grandchild. I have witnessed the very worst of humanity, and the very best.

I currently feel adrift in my beliefs. Rudderless in steering my family as the head of my household towards Him. I want to know if I'm alone. I feel the current Christian leaders of each protestant denomination has deviated from the teachings of the Bible in pursuit of appeasing current-day societal norms. Evident both visually and verbally during the diatribe of the Inaugural Prayer Service. It is my fear, as a Christian in 2025, we as servants to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ are far removed, by our conformity, to the teachings of the Bible, which I believe IS God's word. Protestant church leaders have taken liberty to interpret the "meaning" of what is written, which by very definition is "to have authority over". Nobody has authority over God. I understand society has evolved technologically since the creation of the Written Word, but we have conversely devolved spiritually.

I just want to know if I'm alone in my sentiments?

You must be referring to the nasty, not compelling or smart so called bishop who is a radical left hard line Trump hater, who happens to be boring, uninspiring and not very good at her job.
Lol
😄

I think those were the terms Trump used describing her (or whatever it/they identify as.)

Thank you for your military service. Thank you for sharing your feelings.
A sinister movement has taken place within society that is baffling and disturbing.
Advanced technology has surely played a major role in disrupting what once was
considered a relatively sane society.

'I believe the mood of society and our country are greatly influenced by the news media
and a government system that has failed to uphold an oath in good faith to protect and serve the people.
Power and selfish greed in the wrong hands is an abomination. Government and/or the Christian arena.

Christianity has become a mockery of God, family, and country as once long ago was surely
a more stable society in general. But, I lived in the times of the '50s and '60s, and the change
being witnessed now is like being thrown into a 'Twilight Zone'.

'There are no sufficient words or explanations except what the Bible has with proficient words
put forth about the time would come to what is being witnessed.'

'Each are left to choose their own path. I believe many are in a state of delusional concepts.

No you are not alone..

Concentrate on being a Bible based Christian.. That way when you hear a doctrine that sets of alarms in your conscience you will be more able to dismiss it no matter what church or denomination you might be associated with..

Some people are church / denomination based christians and so spend their lives accepting anything that comes out of their pastors or favorite preachers mouth.. This is a very dangerous place to be as far as ones eternal relationship with God is concerned.. We need to be followers of The LORD Jesus not other men..

Welcome, Brad.

I am a bit confused by something you said. Although I agree with you that so-called "Christian leaders" have greatly deviated from the teachings of the Bible, I do not understand why their deviations have left you "feeling adrift in your beliefs" or "rudderless in steering your family." In other words, if you know that what they are teaching is false, then you must also recognize and know what is true, so why has the truth left you "adrift" and "rudderless?" Just walk in the truths which you know to be true, and teach the same to your family.

I do not know if you have ever heard this saying before or not, but it perfectly sums up our current situation (and many past situations too).

"Biblical Christianity is not popular. Popular Christianity is not biblical."

Btw, thank you for your service.

For the most part, I agree with your assessment of "CHURCH AMERICA" But there is another church that is not visible but invisible! That church take scripture seriously and the teachings of that church call believers to "walk as Jesus walked"! Jesus lives as our example! He had to show the established church leaders that all they had were rules to live by! They did not have a relationship with the Father. I know of a church where there is a calling to do exactly what God calls them to do. That church has gone round the world to the "least of these" types of places. Prayed for the healing power ministry and for evangelism ministry! There is no more than 40 of them but the presence of God is on them and they speak a message of righteousness and truth. This is one part of the last day church that will come out when God calls on those who are "sons of God". Then "a nation will be born in a day" and God will be seen on this earth as never before!
Praise Yahuah!!

Welcome. Don't let the world get you down. It does us no good at all. I'm English by birth. Think you have problems in America? The UK has been taken over by Muslims. The land of the Wesleys, Spurgeon, Taylor, Whitefield, and many others is now the land of Muhammad. The Qu'ran has replaced God's word, churches converted to mosques and Sharia law is taking over. Christians are being harassed while Muslim crimes are not even investigated.

We have our hope in Jesus, not in the world. Let's be part of the answer. Otherwise, we may become part of the problem.

Not at all. Christianity has devolved to a "Christianism", a form of godliness but shallow and empty. I rarely hear anything about God's kingdom. the Lordship of Christ or the meaning of the cross. It's become a sales pitch to draw in unbelievers and turn them into make believers. Not all, of course, are as pathetic. But way too many have allowed the world to change the church instead the church changing the world.

You are correct, I should have worded it "Feeling adrift with my beliefs". I am aware that as a human I am fallible. Two things can be true at the same time. I'm firm in my beliefs yes, but I also have an earthly desire to have those beliefs somewhat align with a coalescent as a form of reassurance that I am on the right spiritual course.
