My pastor said something last night that really stuck with me.
"If you take more joy in denouncing sin than you do in helping the sinner, you really need to inspect your life."
Then he went on to relate something from his job, as an illustration. Once upon a time they had a suggestion box on the wall. At the start everybody was eager to put suggestions in the box. Then one of the managers took the box down, read the suggestions in front of the employees, and said, "there are some pretty good suggestions in here. Now who wants to step up and make some of them happen?" Nothing.
Nobody else ever put any suggestions in the box. Eventually they took the suggestion box down.
It's really easy to point and say something is wrong, something needs to be done here. It's a lot harder to find somebody who's willing to actually do something about it. Are you willing to roll up your sleeves and help a sinner, or do you just like to tell the sinner where he is wrong?
