The "Christian" candidate, Donald Trump; the one who proudly held up the Bible and hawked the Lee Greenwood Bible, either forgot to put his hand on the Bible at his inauguration or simply didn't care. I'd believe either.

The Constitution doesn't require a president being sworn in to put his or her hand on the Bible; however, much of the Donald's campaign was focused on his supposed Christianity. Seems rather odd that he didn't do it. Personally, I think it was a signal that the whole "Christian" thing was a grift to get elected. No longer needing to worry about reelection or what his Christian base thinks of him, he was saying to everyone: Gotcha!

You have heard that it was said to the ancients, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill your
vows to the Lord.’ But I tell you not to swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
or by the earth, for it is His footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.

There are those of such "worldly foolishness" that they are blind and indifferent to those of sound faith in God,
that the concept of "swearing" on the Bible may not be congenial to one's personal relationship with God.
Distasteful attitudes abound in the worldly arena.

watch the video again, John Roberts jumped the gun and didn't allow Melania to get in place.
I had heard there was some kind of mix-up, but I couldn't find any reporting of it.... imagine that. Never miss an opportunity to slander the president...

She was holding two Bibles, the judge did jump the gun and then it was too late to slip it in there. The Bible that is, no pun intended there.

Yes that's what the media said.

Actually he brought his own Bible, his wife was holding and they didn't give him enough time to grab it.

But that doesn't seem evil enough so.

That's not so, he had plenty of time. There are a lot of videos of it if people want to look for themselves. Besides, if the Bible was as important to him as he claims, he would've waited for it.

While he's saying "I Donald John Trump do solemnly swear," Melania moves next to him and he could've easily put his hand on the Bible. He was probably too preoccupied with how his crypto coin was doing.

We know that a hand on the Bible and swearing oaths doesn't make one a Christian. I pray that some believers close to him will lead him to faith alone in Christ.

Thank you for posting this. I was curious since media made it a deal as if the media is Christian and really cares. I see that he intended on two Bibles, not one.....so yes he did not swear on THE Bible.
