Tetrachromacy is a rare condition that allows people to see colors in greater detail than most people
because they have four types of cones in their eyes, instead of the usual three. Trichromats can see
about 1 million colors, while tetrachromats may be able to see an incredible 100 million colors.

Ancient civilizations had no word for the colour blue. It was the last colour to appear in many languages,
including Greek, Chinese, Japanese, and Hebrew. In The Odyssey, Homer describes the “wine-dark” sea.
There's evidence that without a word for the colour, they may not have seen it at all.

People who post a lot of random facts will be the first people to run out of random facts, then when they really need a random fact they won't have one, cause they'll be fresh out.

That's a fact.

[from Reader's Digest]
Roller Coasters were invented to distract Americans from sin. LaMarcus Thompson set out to provide Coney Island some good, clean fun as an option away from saloons and brothels.

People used to say "prunes" instead of "cheese" when having their pictures taken.

It's impossible to hum while holding your nose.

April 11, 1954, was recorded as being the most boring day in the world.

My guess is because I wasn't born yet.
I looked that up. You are right!

But some people think April 18th 1930 should take the prize.

On April 18, 1930, people across England tuned their radios to the BBC for the evening news. The report? “There is no news,” read the announcer. 15 minutes of piano music followed the report.

Contrary to popular belief, road runners are actually slower than coyotes. The average top speed for a desert coyote is 40 miles an hour, while a road runner averages about half at 20. And just for kicks, your average hedgehog only runs about 5 miles an hour - Sega's been lying to us for decades!
